I recently found out since I volunteered to be a GM for a Shadowrun game for the Chicago Gameday on March 15th, that at least a quarter of my players are new. So I thought I would fill in some gaps as well as the setting for this session: Los Angeles.
The A-Typical SR setting is Seattle or with the Shadowrun Missions, Denver. I am not a Los Angeles native at all, but Chicago is very much FUBAR in the Shadowrun setting. LA does offer unique twists and challenges for runners.

Public Awareness is much more valuable than sticking to the shadows and being unseen.
Small Drones do follow runners for enterntainment purposes
