D&D 4E D&DXP: 4e weapon information

Colmarr

First Post
Going on the character sheets released at D&DXP, I've come up with the following information about 4e weapons:

(I would have put it in a table but I have no idea how)

Dagger: Prof 3, Dmg 1d4, 10 square range
Handaxe: Prof 2, Dmg 1d6, 10 square range
Longbow: Prof 2, Dmg 1d10*, 40 square range
Longsword: Prof 2, Dmg 1d8, versatile
Mace: Prof 2, Dmg 1d8, versatile
Short Sword: Prof 2, Dmg 1d6 (note that this is for a small character).
Throwing Hammer: Prof 2, Dmg 1d6, 10 square range
Warhammer: Prof 2, Dmg 1d10**, versatile

Edit: The latest D&D podcast (#20) confirms that the rapier is Prof 3, but gives no other information.

* I strongly suspect that the longbow is 1d8 but the die size has been increased due to class (ranger) or the feat "Lethal Hunter".

** Likewise, I strongly suspect that the warhammer is 1d8 but the die size has been increased due to class (fighter) or due to the feat "Dwarven Weapon Training")

Hobgoblin Archers also deal 1d10 damage with the longbow. It really just might be 1d10.

Of course we don't know what any of these weapons do on critical hits yet. Based on the Human Berserker and Bodak Reaver the greataxe seems to do 1d12 damage and +1d12 on a crit (or even +2d12, but that's probably due to special feats or powers not explicitly listed because they're monsters).

I suspect it's due to the 'High Crit' weapon ability, which was revealed in the Critical Hits-article ... I might be wrong, though.

Hmm. Thanks for the scoop.

D&DXP is turning out be a crunch paradise. The interwebs will be reeling for days!

No no, I think that's exactly right. I just don't know why the human's axe deals +1d12 on a crit and the bodak's +2d12. The weapons seem otherwise identical. I think it's the latter's case that there's some unwritten feat or power in effect.

It could be a level-based difference. The human is level 3; the bodak is level 18.

But the latest podcast mentioned powers that trigger off criticals, so it could be a power that adds +1[W] on a critical...
