well, not such. i was reading the yahoo groups that a fellow from here posted, and theres a question to gary about ToH. (gary's answer are in Bold)
Hey Gary, When you first DMed Tomb of Horrors for your group, how did the players react to the Devil head spheres of annihilation? One of my players took a powerful +5 flaming sword he had won earlier and stuck it in the mouth to try to provide some illumination. Imagine his suprise when all he pulled back was a hilt!
Several 10' poles were made into shorter ones by various PCs, while Robilar tossed an orc into the area to determine its lethality. Your player was rash in risking something valuable like that. A coin with continual light on it, or a plain old torch should have served, eh?
Also, did the players in your group make it to the end and if you have time would you explain what happened?
Several entered, and all of the PCs except Robilar decided the risk was too great. Robilar took along a bunch of orc lackies, and all of them were lost by the time he got past the main entrance hall. He continued alone from there, finally got to the tome of
Acecerek. When the demi-lich's skull levitated, Robilar scooped up the treasure, it going into his bag of holding, and thus rewarded he simply ran off unharmed.
BTW, what happened to the weekly LA adventure summaries? I miss them. Hope all is all right! Thanks,
We have had to cancel the campaign sessions due to holidays, my bout of flu, and then a convention I attended last weekend, leaving to get there on Thursday morning. Play resumes this Thursday.
Cheers,
Gary
