Artificer in July Dragon (possibly)

Hmm... I really excited to see what the 4e Artificer looks like. I've never seen a 3.5e artificer in play, but from what I can recall from the WotC boards, there were a lot of complaints about them being overpowered. Either way, the artificer's emphasis on powers that take a long time to cast, imbuing items with buffs, and item creation powers, are all pretty incompatible with 4e gameplay. I'm curious to see the new artificer.

Interesting.

Of course, it will be a while before I could convert my current campaign, even if I wanted to, since the PCs are:
Barbarian (half-dragon)
Human Monk
Human Bard
Warforged Scout/Artificer -- Yay, we could convert that one in July!
Human Cleric

Only one of the classes is even in the 4e core. :)

Not that there's a lot of demand. The other DM in our group is excited about 4e but wants to finish out our current campaign first. The other players are...well, let's put it this way: I'm probably the most 4e-positive person in the group.

Nonetheless, I'm very interested in seeing the Artificer, because I want to see more things that "stretch" 4e, that show how the system can handle complex and interesting concepts. The more the designers show what can be done with their toolset, the more convinced I am of the merits.

Wait, july? This means we'll likely have to pay for it.

Actually, according to THIS article, we'll be getting Dragon and Dungeon for free for "at least a couple of months". June + July = minimum for couple. I hope it comes out in July, though.

Lizard: Dollars to donuts the Bard shows up on DDI soonish.
I'd say so too, apparently besides the Artificer, there will also be another class that will be released exclusively on DDI prior to the paid-subscriptions. I think this will be the Bard, since we know it is done and the newly released starting letters for PHB2 has only one B, and I bet it will be Barbarian. Thus, it seems likely the Bard could show up on DDI.

Very cool. While there's only been two Dragon articles so far, they've both been very impressive.

Although if the Bard doesn't get printed in the PHBII, where's it going to show up for the gamers who don't go online (Or need it in print)?

I want to say it'll pop up with the Swordmage in the Arcane Power Source book, but I think that's just wishful thinking.

Sidenote: I was sad we didn't get a DDI article today. :(

Rechan: The Rouse confirmed there will be a yearly compendium of articles that are not re-printed elsewhere.

Sorry, I know it was in one of the threads.
