Please do NOT reply to spam messages

No matter how witty or funny you think your reply is, don't do it. It puts the spammer's thread back on the top of the recent posts list and gives the s.o.b. what they want, visibility for their trash. Simply report the post, or ignore it. Don't reply to it.

Whoops, sorry boss!

I know I get irritated when spammers hit my website's forums, so I was poking fun at them in hopes of providing our hard-working mods with some amusement.

I'll keep reporting the slimy cretins, but I'll cease & desist on the spammer harassment.

I'm greatly amused that, at the time I'm posting this, the thread directly below this one is a Cialis spammer. :D

I might be wrong, but it looks like most spam appears in sub-forums where the name is "guessable" or common among multiple forum sites. Maybe you should rename "meta" to "meta-game"?

I think most of the spam appears in Meta because it's the only place a "non-verified" (i.e. somebody who hasn't clicked the link in the confirmation email) user can post.

Exactly. The spam bot catches the rest of them.
