Rpg Designers Needed for Championship

I, however, urge people upset with companies attempting to make a legal profit through the use of intellectual property to consider alternative means of economic reward for intellectual property. Under such circumstances, laws change, business models change, and what one can and cannot publish changes.

What do you need?
An independent internet site hosting the championship.
A certain number of RPG designers willing to subscribe and participate in the cup's various competitions. The cup constitutes of competitions such as general rules, combat rules, traditional fantasy setting, other setting, mixed rpgmaker arts, rpg design theory best advice and stuff like that.
An RPG public willing to pay a ticket to see the matches.

Designers submit their original creations to the competition they want to participate. A referee team of the internet site, makes sure certain rules are followed in the submissions before committing them to the public. People then can buy a ticket that allows them to download designer's submissions and vote their preference. After a week that submissions are provided to the public, voting is held and the participants' score is given by the ballot.

Submissions are given monthly by participant designers and each submission can build on the previous submission of the designer or be something new.

Designers are paid by sharing the public fees. Those that score more get paid more. The top scorers of the championship, at the end of the championship claim a prize put apart for this purpose. The championship lasts a set number of months-competitions. So to sum up, if it lasts four months then four competitions are held, each one every month. Tickets are sold specifically for each monthly competition.

Submissions may be open content for the other designer's to use in their next submission or close content. This must be decided but I think close would work best for where we are now, if we are at it at all. :D

And not forget, championship organizers such as those that run the site and do as referees should be paid by ticket fees for their work and expenses.

Discuss.

Seems like a great idea, Xechnao. I would certainly pay a reasonably small fee to get those submissions and vote on them.

The process does seem a little too elaborate to be put together very simply. I know I would not be up to organize such an event. If you need supporters, though, count me in.

Do you have any experience with promoting something like that?

Edit: I should have added that I do design and would be willing to submit material to such a championship if it was held. I am, however, no more than an amateur. I guess better known names joining the championship would give it more weight.

I have no experience in promoting nor any means such as a website or forum. If I had some influence on some popular rpg forum I could stick this to see people's reaction and opinions.

I think this whole idea's best bet is a site like Enworld or rpg-net. Regarding promotion and if it manages to draw enough interest starting to take up on organizing it. I think Enworld's staff would be one of the best forces around for such a thing. Dunno.

Perhaps they could say what they think about this. *Cross fingers*.
