Juiblex is not subject to energy drain, ability drain, or ability damage; he is also immune to mind-affecting effects.
Juiblex can sense anything within one mile around the mentioning of his name, titles, or an item of importance to him. This power is barred from places associated with gods of goodness or the personal redoubts of Demiurges.
Juiblex is immortal and cannot die from natural causes; he does not age, and does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe.
Spell-Like Abilities: At will - aberrate, animate object, black tentacles, blasphemy, blink, chaos hammer, charm monster, circle of nausea, cloudkill, contagion, corrupt water, damning darkness, deeper darkness, desecrate, destruction, detect law, dispel good, fear, hold monster, invisibility sphere, magic circle against good, greater dispelling, harm, fear, produce flame, project image, red fester, stupor, summon swarm, telekinesis, teleport without error (self plus 100 pounds), unhallow, unholy aura, unholy blight; 6/day - befoul, blindness/deafness, implosion, wall of ooze; 3/day - gaseous form, power word: stun; 1/day - pestilence, pox, wall of eyes; 1/week - despoil, dominate monster. These abilities are as spells cast by a 66th level sorcerer (save DC 19 + spell level).
Ravaged Form - All Around Vision (Ex): Due to the multitude of glaring eyes that populate his body, Juiblex receives a +4 bonus to Spot.
Ravaged Form - Bizarre Eyes (Su): Juiblex's entire form is surrounded by horribly glaring, unblinking red eyes with utterly black pupils. 2/day, the madness in these eyes can create temporary madness in nearby victims, causing confusion as if cast by a 60th level Sorcerer. The Will save DC to withstand this effect is 23.
Ravaged Form - Freezing Body (Ex): Juiblex's loathsome body constantly exudes a blisteringly cold aura the color of vomit. All within 10 feet of Juiblex suffer 4d8 points of cold damage; furthermore, small plants and vegetable life die instantly in his passing from frost. Juiblex always leaves a clear path of dead, frozen grass as he moves about.
Ravaged Form - Ooze Traits (Ex): Juiblex is utterly immune to sleep and stunning. Since he has no clear front or back, he is not subject to critical hits or flanking. These immunities even withstand affects caused by divine beings.
Ravaged Form – Oozing Pustules (Ex): Juiblex's body perpetually quakes with the hideous bubbling of the acid that dominates the liquids of his form. Not only do these oozing pustules make offensive noises, they also allow Juiblex's touch to be potentially fatal. If Juiblex so wills it, his touch or attack acts as the poison spell cast by a 60th level Sorcerer; the Fortitude DC to overcome the poison is 31 for each successful blow.
Ravaged Form - Poison Fumes (Ex): Juiblex's very presence is toxic. Not only does he freeze the surrounding air, he also poisons it. All within 10 feet of Juiblex suffer 4d8 points of acid damage.
Ravaged Form - Steaming Pustules (Ex): Juiblex's disgusting body is surrounded by a freezing, poisonous aura the color of vomit, partially concealing him from view. Juiblex always benefits from ¼ concealment.
Regeneration (Ex): Juiblex takes normal damage from cold iron or holy weapons of at least +3 enchantment if they overcome his damage reduction.
Abyssal Fury (Ex): Juiblex's physical presence is so disgusting that is causes lesser creatures to succumb to his hate and need to spread destruction and terror. All creatures within 60 feet of Juiblex must succeed in a Will save 49. Those who succumb to Juiblex's gross presence suffer one of the two following effects:
Fright: Affected beings become shaken and suffer a -2 morale penalty on attack rolls, saves, and checks. The merest glance or gesture by Juiblex makes them frightened, and they flee as quickly as they can, although they can choose the path of their flight.
Madness: Juiblex's physical presence the grotesque evil incarnate in his being drives lesser beings insane per the insanity spell. The being remains stuck in a state of madness for one day for every point by which she failed the saving throw, after which time the victim is allowed another save. The madness exists until the victim successfully saves or the appropriate spells are cast by a 21st level being to purge the insanity effect.
Juiblex can make his servants, "worshippers," beings of Chaotic Evil alignment, or a mixture of all three types immune to this effect as a free action. This immunity lasts one day or until Juiblex dismisses it. However, the Juiblex cannot determine which effect takes place; there is a 50% chance each time Abyssal Fury is used that one or the other effect will impact near by victims.
Demigods and higher ranked divine beings are immune to Juiblex's Abyssal Fury.
Corrupting Presence (Su): So heinous is Juiblex's presence that he may corrupt an entire area with but a thought. Once per day as a standard action, a Juiblex may unhallow an area equal to 2100 feet. Juiblex can apply the following spells to the unhallow effect (some of which are not listed as part of the unhallow spell in the Player's Handbook): bane, bestow curse, contagion, deeper darkness, dispel magic, silence. In most situations, Juiblex will select bestow curse or contagion.
The forces of righteousness disgust Juiblex, who finds goodness and holiness repellent enough to give him pause. As a result, Juiblex avoids hallowed ground. If Juiblex finds it necessary to enter a hallowed site, he must make a Will DC save equal to 40 + the divine rank of the represented god + the god's Charisma modifier; Juiblex cannot use his spell resistance to overcome this effect. If Juiblex succeeds in entering the hallowed area, the area immediately becomes unhallowed as described above. Once Juiblex breaches holy ground, the god in question is immediately alerted to his presence and will often (DM's discretion) send a proxy or an avatar to deal with the intrusion.
Divine Interloper (Ex): If there is a name for those insane and horrible enough to worship the Faceless Prince, it is not known to even Juiblex's servants. However, Juiblex will occasionally reward those who faithfully serve him, often through the infliction of acidic wounds to themselves and to others. Most of those who call Juiblex their master are completely insane and seem to have no rationale reason for worshipping Juiblex. Juiblex can grant access to spells from three Domains: Chaos, Destruction, and Evil. Those who serve Juiblex may select one Domain and forever gain the ability to cast spells from that list once per day. A servant of Juiblex has the ability to cast a Domain spell based upon his Hit Dice or levels. Every three Hit Dice or class levels grants access to an additional Domain level; worshippers cast spells as Clerics of their current alignment. These servants do not gain access to Domain powers. Due to their immense evil, servants of Juiblex radiate evil as Clerics during detect evil attempts.
Call Tanar'ri (Sp): Twice per day, Juiblex may call Demons. Like most Demon Princes, Juiblex is under no special restriction for calling any kind of Demon. In fact, he rarely bothers to call on Demons at all, preferring to destroy and kill on his own, or fleeing if a conflict turns against him. On rare occasions, Juiblex will call on five Hezrou Demons. In addition to his ability to call Demons, Juiblex may call Oozes each day of any sort three times to a maximum HD limit of 100. These beings are under Juiblex's complete control, although he often will try to kill them after they've served him.
Skills: Juiblex receives a +8 racial bonus to Listen and Spot checks.
Amorphous (Ex): Blunt weapons and impact damage deal no damage to Juiblex. He is able to slip through spaces that otherwise could accommodate a creature no larger than Tiny because of his jellylike substance.
Drown (Ex): A being that needs air to breathe and becomes engulfed within Juiblex's nightmarish form must make a Constitution check (DC 10) every round in order to hold his breath. Each round, the DC increases by 1. Upon failing the check, the being falls unconscious (0 hp). The next round, the being drops to -1 hp and is dying. The round after that, the being drowns and dies.
Engulf (Ex): Juiblex can simply bowl over a Huge or smaller creature as a standard action. This attacks affects as many opponents as his body can cover. Each target can make either an attack of opportunity against Juiblex or a Reflex save (DC 55) to avoid being engulfed. A successful saving throw indicates that the target has been pushed back or aside (target's choice) as Juiblex moves forward. An engulfed creature is subject to Juiblex's oozing pustules and drown attacks and is considered to be grappled and trapped within his body. Juiblex cannot make a slam attack during a round in which he attempts to engulf, but each engulfed creature takes automatic slam damage that round and every round thereafter that it remains trapped.
Amorphous Touch (Su): 3/day, Juiblex can apply his Amorphous Touch. He can use this as part of a slam attack or as a simple touch attack, although he can't use it while engulfing or drowning a victim. The victim receives a Fortitude save DC 57 to withstand the effect. Those that fail are immediately turned into a mass of goo. Although still very much alive, the victim is unable to move or think, effectively possessing a Dexterity and Intelligence of 0. In most cases, Juiblex will follow up this attack by drowning the amorphous victim. Those fortunate enough to survive the attack return to their true form after 24 hours. The victim can be transported as if she were a liquid possessing the same volume of her natural form. Limited wish, miracle, or wish can reverse the effect immediately.
Feast of Souls (Su): Nothing satisfies Juiblex more than the consumption of souls. Three times per day, Juiblex can attempt to consume a soul. The Feast of Souls requires three full round actions during which Juiblex engulfs a the body of a being whose physical body died within the last three rounds (the souls of beings who've been dead for a longer period of time have long since escaped Juiblex's threat). During the next three rounds, Juiblex consumes the body and the soul. Throughout this process, he cannot attack, cast spell-like abilities, or even defend himself; he is treated as flat-footed and may not take ten on any action. Being dead, the soul of the victim does not gain a saving throw nor does its spell resistance benefit it. Once the three rounds are over, the soul is completely and utterly destroyed. No mortal magic is capable of retrieving the soul and only Greater gods of life with access to Mass Life and Death can attempt to reclaim the soul and then with only a 50% chance.
Sacrificial Summons (Su): Servants of Juiblex believe that sacrifices dedicated to their wretched master are means to curry his favor. They are not far from the truth. Juiblex has the ability to grant cleric levels to those who carry out sacrifices in his name. Such sacrifices usually take place in horribly unsanitary environments, like sewers, where the victim is forced to consume waste products before being gutted alive. For every three levels the sacrificial victim had, the celebrant gains 1 Cleric level for one month. However, what servants of Juiblex desire is permanent power and they often seek out truly powerful victims to please their Faceless Prince. If the celebrant manages to sacrifice a being possessing at least 20 class levels or ECL before a gating circle on unhallowed ground in Juiblex's name, the Faceless Prince will burst forth upon the death of the victim and engage in the Feast of Souls. Upon consuming the soul, there is a 50% chance that Juiblex will attack the celebrant and others in the vicinity before returning to The Abyss, or to an unsuspecting Prime world. On the other hand, there is a 50% chance that the Faceless Prince will grant the celebrant 5 permanent cleric levels or 5 permanent Thrall of Juiblex levels. In the event Juiblex's attempt to Feast on the soul is interrupted, he will attempt to kill everything in sight, including the celebrant, who is then often the target of the Feast of Souls.
Possessions: Generally speaking Juiblex has absolutely no interest in owning anything. He doesn’t use weapons, magic items, scrolls, nor does he carry anything. It is for this reason, among others, that Juiblex is often referred to as The Demon Prince of Nothing.
It has often been said that Juiblex, the Faceless Prince, is the most hideous and loathsome of all beings in Creation. Completely evil and utterly alien in his desires, Juiblex exists only to destroy, consume, and make horrible that which is beautiful. Although referred to as "he," Juiblex is actually genderless.
Juiblex's background is a mystery. Many scholars believe that he may have ascended into Demon Lord status as a Hezrou Demon, something not commonly thought as possible. From this point on, he further evolved into the Faceless Lord until he achieved this pinnacle in his despicable existence. Quite a few scholars are of the opinion that Juiblex is the purest form of Demon. All he seems to do is destroy and consume, or else destroy and lay waste. He has no guiding interest, could care less about ruling more space in The Abyss, and has no lesser creatures serving him.
On occasion, Juiblex is summoned to the Prime Material Plane where he often goes on a rampage until suitably powerful being and sometimes high ranking Angels are called to destroy or banish him. Otherwise, he remains in his layer of The Abyss.
Juiblex is a vast puddle of putrid ooze very similar in appearance to particularly gross-looking vomit with scores of large, horribly glaring red eyes staring about. He can rise to over 50 feet in the air, or become flat enough to appear like a large pond of rancid waste. He moves with surprising speed when necessary, and can squeeze through the smallest spaces in an instant. In any event, disgusting sounds perpetually emanate from his form unless Juiblex is hunting. Juiblex does not speak and even his telepathic communications are simple, one word statements. Unfortunately, this apparent stupidity has lead many unwary heroes to early, horrible, and permanent deaths.
As always, comments, questions, and constructive criticism welcome.
