I'm sure this has been asked a dozen times, but I am out of D&D music to play during my sessions and I need some fresh stuff and I have no idea where to start looking. Could you guys and gals give me some suggestions?? I've done the Conan, Final Fantasy and Diablo music to death.

I looked at the other music post, didn't tell me anything I don't already know. Looking for some original ideas, not just a list of movie soundtracks.

For a non-movie soundtrack option, I like Pink Floyd's The Wall and almost anything by Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai. The latter three offer great instrumentals that range from hard & fast to eerily moody.

As my handle might indicate I am fond of the more extreme end of the musical spectrum.:D

I often torture my players with the musical stylings of Entombed, Morbid Angel, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and the like. I find that death metal/black metal is a good background noise for my campaign which is more in the mature/vile vein.

So if you want good gothic doomy atmosphere there are many good melodic black/death metal bands that do the trick nicely.

Fight scenes are good with some old school thrash accompaniment, such as slayer.

Of course extreme metal may not be your cup of tea in that case here are a few suggestions.

The Lord of the Rings soundtrack (natch)

The soundtrack for the movie Legend has some really effective pieces.

And just in case you are a head banging metal freak like myself I would be happy to reccomend some bands in that genre.:D

well, usually we don't care but my brother puts in some led zeppling, nirvana, or some greenday.

Whatever you, or your characters, but mainly you :D like

Unless you can find some really cool adventuring music...
