The Bound Woman
Many are the women who learn the ways of the seductress, in order to use their wiles on unsuspecting victims. It’s a path that many women find easy to learn, and many are the rewards from such adventures. But there are those who chose a much harder path, choosing to draw their power from self-restraint and self-discipline rather than from passion. Female spellcasters who chose to live their lives in an extremely disciplined manner learn to draw from their own denied desires to create powerful magics of protection and transformation, as well as creating potent changes in their own bodies. By denying their very self, a Bound Woman can unleash strength and power beyond the ken of their most uninhibited sisters.
It’s unknown why males cannot also benefit from this regime of extreme self-discipline, but there seems to be something fundamentally uninhibited about males that prevents them from deriving any magical benefit from such a lifestyle. While some male spellcasters live their lives very similarly to Bound Women for personal reasons (some claim in enhances concentration), men cannot take levels in this prestige class. Bound Women are almost exclusively wizards, though some have levels in monk or paladin. The passionate craft of sorcery or the flamboyant magical music of the bard do not lend itself to the ascetic lifestyles necessary for this craft.
Bound Women are models of self-discipline and restraint. It is rare they allow any emotion to surface, and they remain unmoved by all but the most extreme of situations. Despite this, many can be found in the company of very passionate individuals (barbarians, bards, or sorcerers), as they seek to test their composure against their emotional opposites.

Requirements
To qualify to become a Bound Woman, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.
Sex: Female.
Alignment: Lawful neutral.
Spells: Must be able to cast prepared 4th level arcane spells, including one of the magic circle spells (magic circle against chaos/evil/good/law). If a specialist wizard, must not have abjuration or transmutation as a barred school.
Feats: Silent Spell or Still Spell, Skill Focus (Concentration), Iron Will, Spell Focus (Abjuration or Transmutation).
Skills: Concentration – 12 ranks.
Special: Must voluntarily remain chaste and celibate (neither have sex nor marry).

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Bound Woman prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The Bound Woman gains no additional weapon or armor proficiencies.
Spells: A character continues her magical studies as she advances in the Bound Woman prestige class. However a Bound Woman focuses on spells that represent her ideals of protection and personal improvement and empowerment. At each level, she learns two spells of whatever level spells she can cast, chosen from the Bound Woman spell list. She can put these in her spellbook free of charge, just like a wizard’s free two spells each level. She must prepare her spells in advance like a wizard. Her spells are based on Intelligence, just like a wizard. She essentially advances like a wizard, using the new progression and the given spell list.
Designer’s Note: If a player wants to add other spells to the Bound Woman’s list from other sources, here is essentially what type of spells are on this list. They are primarily Abjuration and Transmutation spells, with a few other spells thrown in that fit the theme of “wall” or “control of self/others,” such as the wall spells (wall of fire, etc.), the Otiluke’s sphere spells, improved invisibility, and charm monster. Any extra spells added to the list should be in this vein.

Bound Woman: The Bound Woman represents the ultimate in the denial of their own “weak” desires, in particular those attached to romantic and carnal relationships. In a physical representation of their personal vows, they wrap themselves from crown to sole in straps of leather or cloth, including their face, obscuring all facial features but the eyes, and obscuring all physical details. Some do not even recognize a Bound Woman as a woman. This is treated as padded armor, though a Bound Woman suffers no arcane spell failure while wearing it. Many Bound Woman wear one-way crystal lenses over their eyes to further enhance their intimidating, touch-me-not appearance. A Bound Woman gains a +2 Intimidation bonus.
Unruffled: A Bound Woman displays no emotion and can help others toward that enlightened state. She can cast calm emotions 1/level/day as a spell-like ability cast at her Bound Woman level.
Shielding Conversion: A Bound Woman can freely convert a certain number of spells per day into any Abjuration spell of the same level. She may convert one spell of each level of spell she can cast per day into any known Abjuration spell of equal or lower level.
Skin of Steel: A Bound Woman’s skin begins to reflect the steely nature of her resolve. She gains a +3 natural armor bonus.
Purity of Body: At 4th level, the Bound Woman’s resolve gives her immune system unparalleled strength. She gains immunity to all disease except for magical disease such as mummy rot and lycanthropy, as per the monk ability.
Heart of Ice: The Bound Woman gains unparalleled control over her emotions. She becomes immune to all spells, abilities, or effects that require the manipulation of emotions, such as a spell causing someone to rage, or a dragon’s frightful presence.
Wholeness of Body: At 7th level, a Bound Woman can learn to heal her own wounds through will alone. She can cure up to twice her current Bound Woman level in hit points each day, and she can spread this healing out among several uses. As per the monk ability. (Su)
Eyes of the Absolute: A Bound Woman’s gaze shows frightening resolve, above and beyond what most are able to comprehend. Once per day, a Bound Woman can focus her resolve into a diamond-sharp lance of pure power that can leave a creature catatonic. It is a gaze attack with a range of 60 ft. It can only affect one creature, and that creature must both have eyes and have an Intelligence of 3 or higher (animals, oozes, and the like can’t comprehend a Bound Woman’s gaze and are thus unaffected). The unfortunate creature meeting those requirements must make a Will save of 10 + levels in Bound Woman + Int mod. Those who fail are stunned for 1 round/Bound Woman level. This state cannot be reversed before it’s natural ending without anything short of a heal spell. If the creature makes the save, he takes a -2 penalty on attacks and damage for one round due to the unnerving gaze. This is a mind-affecting, supernatural ability.
Will of Diamond: A Bound Woman’s will can almost never be bent or broken. She gains a +10 on saves against mind-affecting spells, spell-like abilities, or supernatural abilities.
Wrapped Soul : At 10th level the Bound Woman gains the ability to turn aside magic from affecting her. She gains spell resistance equal to 10 + ½ Bound Woman levels + Int mod.
Note, Ex Bound Women, Bound Women and their vows: A Bound Woman who voluntarily marries or has sex loses all class abilities from the Bound Woman prestige class. A Bound Woman that is compelled to break her vows by force or magical coercion does not lose her class abilities (she must maintain “mental chastity and celibacy.”) The DM is the final arbitrator of when a Bound Woman has voluntarily forsaken her vows.
