New 'how old are we' poll

In view of the danger that this thread might survive past the some respondent's birthdays, I have decided to ask "In what year were you born?".

Sorry I had to group the years, but teh server won't let me post polls with more than 15 options.

What was wrong with the 'old' how old are you poll?

Was it broken? Did it get the shaft?

Some of us moved to another bar and in my case (as bars go) it was lower!

Both.

It was broken because the unequal widths of the age categories meant that it gave an entirely misleading idea of the age structure of the sample.

It got the shaft because several of the correspondents got up to two years older and were not able to change their responses.
