Mood music for a crypt needed

Hey all--

I've coming up on the conclusion of a campaign for the summer-- just one last session to go. The players are in a crypt that contains an oracle that they have been seeking for two months now. The crypt is stocked with creatures that terrified locals call "The Unborn" that have yet to actually show themselves because the party carried a set of hard-won talismans that kept the horrors away.

And then a semi-trusted NPC stole their only protection, leaving the party in the slowly raising darkness with the Unknown softly creeping in....

Heh. I love it when a plan comes together.

Now, here is my question. I need some seriously eerie mood music. I need atmosphere-- any suggestions?

I've got a CD player, but I need to find a good CD before Tuesday night. I can't download music, but I do have a reasonable number of music stores available.

Thanks--

Does the recent horror movie "Willard" with Crispin Glover have a soundtrack? That one might be a good idea for it.

Mood music? No problem! Barry White's The Icon is Love. That'll get your mojo risin'!

Oh ... wait ... for a crypt. My bad.

In that case, Night on Bald Mountain (Noch' na Lïsoy gore) is a good track. You can get it off the Fantasia soundtrack.

errrr...how spooky do you want it? Back in my industrial goth days, I listed to a CD called Paradise Disowned by Lustmord who would often record ambient music in caves and crypts. It was disturbing sounds and music, to the point that my room mate's cat would run from the room and hide when the CD was on. I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a copy, but I know that Lustmord also produced and/or remixed the score to the movie Underworld. I can't recall the score to that movie well, but it might be easier to find and more to your taste.

Anything by Midnight Syndicate is good for that Horror/Gothic sound. They actually have an official D&D soundtrack, but their other vampiric stuff is creepy and has that Undead mood.

Midnight Syndicate is required music for any gothic horror or dungeon setting. I'd go for either "Born of the Night" or "Realms of Shadows" as the CD of choice for your needs.

I might suggest the creepier instrumental bits from David Bowie's albums "Heroes" and Low -- lot of very eerie material that feels like it is dripping off the cold stone walls ;)

Aliens: The Deluxe Edition

Hands down, my first source of creepy/eerie music is this album. Released relatively recently, you should be able to find it at your local stores. Tracks #7-"Atmosphere Station" and #10-"Sub-level 3" are especially tension-filled. We all remember the slow creep the movie makes as the colonists are discovered in their caccoons. These tracks are soft eerieness punctuated with drum taps, frightening flute/string bursts, and what seems like soft radio static. Perfect!! There are as many creepy tracks as action tracks. You can score your whole module to this disc (and the monster name "Unknown" just seems to fit!).

In fact, everyone reading this who uses music for your game should pick up this album. Why are you still reading? Go get it!! :)

Back from the Napster days I got movie scores from Jason and Nightmare on Elm Street. Also, House On Haunted Hills OST is just filled with wierd, creepy music tracks (Encountering Mr. Blackburn, etc).
