A Khopesh is is 20-24 inches, as you said. Longer and shorter variations are no longer called Khopeshi, though, they have individual names, such as the Falcata.
A dagger is 9-12 inches. Longer and shorter variations also have different names, such as the long knife and short sword.

For standard, English style swords, the classification goes; knife, long knife, dagger, short sword, middle sword, long sword, bastard sword, two handed sword.

Also, to the person who mentioned above a "two handed bastard sword", such a weapon does not exist. All bastard swords are hand-and-a-half swords, meaning that they may be used with either one or two hands as situation fits.

Ah, but who said we are limiting ourselves to English standard?

1.The hunting dagger (German: Hirschfänger, or deer catcher) is a 20–30-inch (510–760 mm) long double-edged German stabbing weapon, used to kill deer and boar in the 18th century.
2.kinjal (or kama) is russian long dagger going 23+inches in length
3.Telek an African dagger can aslo be more then 23 inches
4.Cinquedea being anywhere in size from 10" to 28"
5. Main-gauches and sword-breakers are also classified as daggers and can be longer then 20"

Note also that the system was designed to give Fighters/warriors an advantage. Most weapons that are the preferred warrior weapons (two-handed sword, long sword, etc.) do more damage to large creatures to give them an advantage in combat. Typical priest and wizard weapons do less damage to large opponents.
