In the Cult of Urgathoa's lair, the heroes had found a crystal ball with a map of the phlogiston inside it. The map depicted many crystal spheres. Two of them glowed. One was the heroes' home universe of NyrodSpace, the other was of a distant sphere called GreatSpace.

Word of the phlogiston map spread amongst those close to the heroes, and prayers were sent to the heavens. The gods heard these prayers, and thus they gained knowledge of the phlogiston map. At last they had a clue as to where Mari could be, as well as where Lolth and the Primordial exarchs might be lurking.

Just prior to meeting with the gods to discuss the phlogiston map, Anjou, the Primal Spirit of Storms, was attending to a personal matter. Not too long ago, she'd created a mountain called Mt. Analogue north of Olwynn. There was a bell at the top. If her followers could climb to the top and ring the bell, Anjou would grant them a boon.

But she'd learned that mysterious genasi, humanoids touched by both fire and earth, had been slaughtering anyone who attempted to climb.

Anjou sent an avatar of herself down to the mountain - a bear infused with lightning. When five of the mysterious genasi attacked three elves who were preparing to climb, the bear mauled the genasis. The bear questioned the lone surviving elf, but the elf knew nothing.

Anjou decided to put the issue aside, for it was time for her to convene with the gods.

Northwest of Olwynn, before the epic mountains and Zev's City of Night, was the barbarian plains. The plains were a land of eternal snow, where the Frosthowl Clan wandered. Here is where the gods had agreed to meet.

Io, god of dragons, and Galasis god of magic, were to stay in NyrodSpace to oversee things.

It was cold in the frozen wastes. The bright sun shined down on the young deities.

Zev, the lich-god, said, "We should have met in my City of Night."

Kava Frosthowl replied, "No."

Duskeater, Zev's Imp, who was a demon lord as well as the king of ghouls, said from inside Zev's ribcage, "Oh look, it's the nerd dragonborn."

Kava ignored the imp and tried to think of the fastest way to travel to GreatSpace. Because their godly power was greatly diminished outside of NyrodSpace, they could not simply appear there. They'd have to use more conventional means. If they took a spelljammer, the journey through the phlogiston would take two to three months.

Anjou thought perhaps they could go through Sigil, the planar city. But then she remembered, godly entities such as they were unable to enter the city. The Lady of Pain somehow wielded the power to bar all gods, demon lords, and like beings from her city.

Zev thought perhaps they could send a mortal minion to go there and find a portal. Duskeater suggested sending one of his servant imps.

And so it was that PaunchCrammer, servant of Zanestra Shadowborn in the city of Olwynn was called upon for a great quest. The portly imp was flapping about The Cage in no time. The friendly fellow happily flew from market to market, chomping on fruit harvested from the feywild, drinking a dark syrupy drink from the Shadowfell, savoring a dretch steak from the abyss and topped it off with some flavored ice from the frosty depths of the Elemental Chaos.

While on his epic restaurant tour, he eventually came to a place called the Styx Oarsmen. There, he met a mysterious githzerai named Rule-of-Three. A deal was brokered. Rule-of-Three received 10,000 gold, and the gods received a map that pinpointed a portal in the astral sea which led to the interior of the sphere of GreatSpace.

The gods boarded the Flying Fortress (the githyanki airship commandeered by the heroes in the Scales of War campaign) and sailed through the astral sea. Storm flew alongside them on the back of his black dragon. His four other dragons flew with them as well. The gods easily found the color pool that was a planar portal to GreatSpace.

They passed through, and appeared in GreatSpace hovering 100 feet above a forest on the mountainous world of Hecht. Below their ship, they spotted a decimated village. Three Leukodaemons were tearing apart some disease-ravaged corpses.

Kava jumped off the ship, plunged 100 feet, and landed on the back of a leukodaemon, killing it instantly. Anjou jumped alongside her, and plunged her artifact spear through another. Storm jumped down, and cleaved the last one in half.

They searched the town, and saw that everyone appeared to have been killed by a disease that Zev identified as The Scarlet Plague.

They found a temple devoted to Lolth. Zev studied the holy texts within. He learned that at one time, GreatSpace had 12 gods. But Lolth had convinced Yagnor, a God of a race known as the Grevans, to betray his fellow gods. Together, Yagnor and Lolth killed them all.

And then, Lolth betrayed Yagnor. She buried him in a desert up to his neck, magically trapping him there for all eternity. Lolth became the sole goddess of GreatSpace.

Recently, she'd brought Urgathoa to GreatSpace. Her cults swiftly grew, and they began to infect and kill off non-drow communities in the universe with different magical diseases.

As Zev read, Anjou meditated, trying to tap into the world's primal power to give it added strength.

Clarissa searched the town for survivors. She found a small family of beautiful blonde humans hiding in a cellar. She gave them some food. The father's name was Farland. He explained that Urgathoa had unleashed a disease on the town. He praised Lolth, looking above fearfully.

Clarissa's fiery hair blazed. She said, "I'm sure there are other gods that would be of much better use to you."

Farland looked at Clarissa quizzically. "There are no other gods. They're all dead."

She smiled at Farland and said, "There are new gods, my friend."

He laughed nervously, looking around as if Lolth was in the shadows. "New Gods? Lolth won't stand for that! She'd kill them with her poison!" He dropped his voice to a whisper and said, "She's always listening!".

Kava dragged all of the dead bodies in the village and made a giant pile. Then she set the corpses ablaze. Once that was done, she used her ice breath to chase off the flies.

Clarissa introduced the family to the other gods. Farland looked at them. Kava had a small fiery orb (the eye of the old gods) orbiting her head. Anjou held the arrow of fate, her artifact spear in her lap. And Zev held the Wand of Orcus. Farland said, "My, look at the powerful magic you wield. Where is it that you have come from? And have come to our beautiful world of Hecht... thanks to Lolth."

"Uh... No thanks to Lolth," Anjou said.

The family gasped. The heresy! Farland cried, "You don't know what you say!"

"Oh I know what I say," the warden replied.

Storm sighed. "You don't fear Lolth, do you?"

Farland looked to the sky, as if he expected lighting to strike them all. "I revere Lolth!"

Storm said, "That might be a mistake."

Farland whispered to the shifter, "She's always listening!"

Anjou said, "Lolth's very busy. She's trying to destroy where we came from."

Farland nodded and said judiciously, "I... have no opinion on that. I merely wish to keep my family safe." He spotted some of Storm's dragons flying around their ship. Farland cried out, "Dragons! They're with you?!"

Anjou explained, "Where we come from, we're actually deities. In a sphere called NyrodSpace."

Farland said, "Well I would advise you to be wary." He whispered, "The drow come out at night. They live underground. And there's cults of Urgathoa spreading. We have been told to accept and embrace her. We are to be subjected to her disease experiments."

Zev cast a ritual on the leukodaemons' remains to see what they knew. He learned that Lolth was likely on another world of GreatSpace, called Thesalys. On Thesalys, was a place called the Spiral Desert. Zev had a vision of a great ruined temple where he believed Urgathoa resided.

They brought Farland, his wife and his child on board the Flying Fortress. They flew them to OstDuven.

The gods stayed on the ship, floating above the town. At night, they spotted some drow - two females and three males. They broke into a house, dragged a family out and forced them to the town square. There, the evil drow tied down the father and a priestess began whipping him with a fang whip.

Storm teleported down and let out a Call to the Moon. The drow grabbed their heads and shouted in pain.

The drow priestess turned and hissed in drow, "Who dares!?"

Storm said, "A god greater than yours."

She raised her whip, and Storm cut off her hands, as quick as lightning. Blood sprayed from the stumps as she fell to her knees, screaming. The three male drow turned and ran. Anjou teleported down and grabbed the two females. She let lightning course through her body and into theirs, killing one of them.

Clarissa teleported down. She cut off the three fleeing males, and knocked them out with punches to the face.

Zev grabbed the surviving female, pulled out her eye, and ate it. She shrieked in horror. DuskEater laughed. The imp said, "So effective, oh great one!".

They demanded information from the drow. The drow claimed that Lolth herself sometimes appeared in The Spiral Desert.

The gods got on the flying fortress and flew to the world of Thesalys. The journey took a few days. During this time, Zev read more of the books he'd taken from the Church of Lolth.

Kava Frosthowl stood on deck, sharpened her axe, and fixed her steely gaze on the blue and green world of Thesalys.

Zev learned that when the gods had created GreatSpace, they used the last of the Mother Stone that forged the worlds to create a magical tablet imbued with a portion of each of their energy. As long as the tablet was in one peace, the gods could not harm one another. The Tablet of the Ages was a symbol of the truce between the gods.

But Yagnor's betrayal caused the tablet to shatter into 12 pieces, each of which contained the divine power of a different deity. As the gods battled Lolth and Yagnor, the fragments passed from mortal to mortal. Many of the fragments were taken out of GreatSpace altogether.

Once Lolth had won, she'd since been searching for the 12 fragments. It was said that she had three in her possession.

Zev also read a tome called The Menus Kai, which spoke of the culture of the Grevans. The Grevans were a warlike people. Each Grevan's goal was to die in battle with honor, so that they could join the faar'maki. The faar'maki was an army comprised of Grevan ancestor spirits who had fallen with honor.

The Flying Fortress arrived at Thesalys. The vast Spiral Desert was below them. The heroes flew about for a while, and spotted a vast army of 85,000 soldiers marching. They flew closer, and saw that they were grevans - grey-skinned humanoids who appeared to be a hybrid of orcs and eladrin.

There was a smaller contingent of grevans a few miles north. There were a band of grevans holding a platform on which more grevans stood, guarded an old, withered female grevan sitting on a throne. She seemed to be blind.

The heroes flew low, and called down to them.

A warrior called up in the Grevan language, "Who are you and what do you want?". Zev understood all languages and was able to respond.

"Enemies of Lolth", called the lich.

"Enemies of Lolth, eh? We could use that ship! There's 500 of us and a couple of you... Lich!"

The heroes talked to each other, as the old grevan woman whispered something to one of her warriors. The warrior called up, "Sheehab demands that you come down and talk to use face to face!"

Storm teleported down and stood in the desert before the Grevans. Anjou and Kava accompanied him.

The old grevan woman spoke. "I am Sheehab! Who are you? And what do you want with us? I should warn you, these 500 warriors are of my litter. They are some of the strongest grevans there are. They will defend me to the death."

The heroes saw that the gevans wore a lot of stolen drow armor, and proudly displayed drow skulls on their shoulders.

Zev called to them, "We're here to kill Lolth. We'll earn our respect by challenging you in battle. We'll defeat your best warrior and then we shall work together. That is what we propose."

Sheehab said, "Very well. But this will be a fight to the death! Who among you will fight Varuna?"

A tall, female, muscled grevan stepped forward. She wielded a massive, chipped two-handed sword.

Storm faced off with her. Varuna said in Grevan, "A cat-man?", and laughed. "Should I die today, I shall join the Faar'maki, and there is no greater honor. And so I cannot lose."

Storm jumped past her, turned, and cut off Varuna's head (he rolled a critical). The Grevans gasped.

Blind Sheehab called out, "What has transpired?".

One of her warriors told her, "He killed her with a single blow!".

Sheehab nodded and called out, "You are strong indeed! Thank you for sending one of my litter to join the Faar'maki."

"It was my pleasure," Storm replied.

Anjou said, "I like these people."

Sheehab told them where to find the ruined temple in exchange for a promise to tell her if they found Yagnor.

The gods made their way to the ruined temple. As they flew over the desert, the weird, massive sun of GreatSpace beamed down on them.

DuskEater said to Storm, "You did all right. But Zev would have killed her with more flair!"

Storm asked, "Well then why didn't he?"

The imp said, "Other people do the work for him. It's just the smart thing to do."

Storm said, "So you're lazy."

"Not lazy. Smart. I can't believe you don't know this, but you're all just his puppets, don't you get it?! So stupid! Hahahaha! See? I can say it right to your faces!"

Zev said, "Don't be rude, my lowly imp."

Anjou asked DuskEater, "Do you remember the last time you insulted me?"

DuskEater climbed into Zev's ribcage and mumbled, "Who cares? You're so insignificant."

Kava said, "You know, I think Zev has a handle on this. The rest of us could probably leave. You can fight Lolth."

Zev was amused. He said, "You great gods are being stirred by a lowly imp? I expect better."

DuskEater looked at Kava, standing right by the railing. The desert was far below the ship. He whispered a bit too loud, "Master, we should push her off the ship."

Kava said, "Mountainroots." (referring to her encounter power which prevented forced movement, which came in handy every single session of the revenge of the giants campaign).

Duskeater began rueing. "Mountainroots!", he cried.

They arrived at the ruined temple. It once held twelve giant statues of the deities of GreatSpace. Now, most of them had crumbled. A stairwell led below. Powerful magic warded the area from scrying...

The gods headed down the steps and came upon a vast open chamber. Stone crypts with loose and cracked lids were placed throughout the room. On the far end of the room was a swirling font of primordial energy, shifting from fire, ice, earth and other elements at random.

Standing on the font was Urgathoa, the primordial exarch. She appeared to be a human woman with golden skin from the waist up. Below that was the body of a bloody skeleton. She held a long scythe, and did not seem to be alarmed by the heroes' intrusion.

She was not alone. Spread throughout the room were her guards and heralds:

- Mother's Maw, an ogre-sized floating skull, surrounded by a cloud of flies, trailed maggots and had blood dripping from its' fanged teeth.

- Olyx, a vampire priest of Urgathoa

- Two Death Titans, each with four soul shards swirling about them.

The giants charged the heroes. One tore into Storm with its' great axe (a critical for 78 points of damage). Storm sliced back, and then Clarissa plunged her blade into the titan, stunning it (yes, Clarissa has an at-will that stuns).

Kava flanked the stunned titan and bloodied it with a mighty blow. Then she breathed ice on it, killing it. Storm transformed into a panther and mauled the other titan.

Mother's Maw was slowly hovering across the room to engage the heroes. Anjou slipped past the titans to meet the strange skull.

Olyx, the vampire, was running from crypt to crypt, using them as cover as he got closer and closer to the heroes. Kava spotted this, and charged the vampire. As she brushed past a crypt, she saw glowing red eyes from within. Suddenly, a crypt thing rose up from within! The skeletal, dusty, robed humanoid pointed an accusatory bone finger at her. Moments later, crypt things rose from the eight other crypts throughout the room as well!

Kava sliced open the vampire and knocked him to the ground (for 91 points...). Then she brought her axe down on him three more times (action point, hurricane of blades, doing another 142 points of damage!). Olyx, hurt badly, staggered to his feet and cast a spell that should have stunned the dragonborn. Instead, her eye of the old gods that she'd obtained in the ancient realm of Death's Reach absorbed the attack!

A crypt thing pointed a finger at Kava and fired off a spell at her. It teleported the barbarian to a far corner of the room.

The others battled the remaining titan as Urgathoa remained in the primordial font, seemingly unconcerned and waiting for them to approach. Storm swung twice, and cut down the titan (hitting once for 145 points of damage!). A crypt thing teleported Storm clear across the room, so that he was only a few feet away from the primordial font and Urgathoa herself! Storm stabbed her and knocked her to the ground as the font swirled and granted them both special boons, from earth armor, to flaming weapons, to watery movement, and so on.

Clarissa made her way to Mother's Maw and stunned the skull with a slash of her enchanted khopesh.

Anjou held up her spear, the Arrow of Fate, and sent out lightning tendrils that dragged Mother's Maw and Olyx to either side of her. Then she stabbed Olyx, bloodying the vampire. She assumed the form of the world forger, becoming a being made of swirling magma. Zev pelted Olyx with an eldritch bolt.

Clarissa saw that Storm was alone against the Pallid Princess, and raced across the room, sweat glistening on her taut thighs (don't ask).

Kava joined Anjou in fighting Mother's Maw. Kava swung her axe right through the skull, utterly destroying it. Blood and maggots sprayed everywhere (Yep, Kava had another critical).

In the primordial font, Urgathoa got to her feet. With but a glance, she infected Storm with the lethal Scarlet Plague! Red blisters began to form beneath the shifter's fur. Then she slashed him with her deadly scythe as the font again granted them earth armor (giving them resist 15 until the next round).

Clarissa had made her way across the room, dodging the spells of the crypt things along the way. She ran into the primordial font and stabbed Urgathoa.

Zev the lich-god, still near the steps, cast an eyebite spell on Olyx, injuring the vampire and making himself invisible to him.

A crypt thing teleported Kava away from the remains of Mother's Maw. She charged from the corner back to Olyx, hitting him, knocking him to the ground, and hurting him badly. Olyx turned into a mist and tried to escape, But Kava and Anjou's magic weapons sliced through him, and dispersed him forever.

A crypt thing teleported Anjou to the primordial font. In the font, Urgathoa held out a hand, and caused Storm's Scarlet Plague to spread throughout his body. He fell to the ground, dying!

The heroes closed in on Urgathoa and began slicing into her. She called out to Lolth for aid. A nearby archway glowed purple in response..

Lolth and two six-armed drow demonbinders stepped through. Zev, from across the room, could see that Lolth was holding three new magic items. She had found three pieces of the Tablet of the ages, and had affixed the fragments to a gauntlet, a headband, and a staff respectively.

The lich began to approach, cautiously. As he neared a crypt thing, he held out a hand and de-animated the creature. It turned to dust, and its' robes flopped harmlessly into the crypt. He flew up 20 feet, quietly continuing to come closer to the drow goddess.

Storm suddenly snapped awake, got up, and resumed battling Urgathoa. Clarissa bloodied Urgathoa, slicing open her shoulder.

Kava healed Storm some more. Urgathoa spun about, slicing everyone with her scythe. Storm was wracked with disease and still hurt badly.

Lolth and the demonbinders didn't like the look of things. Lolth mentioned to her allies in drow that she planned on getting one shot in on the heroes and then leaving Urgathoa to her fate. Anjou heard this, and ran over to them. Anjou held up the Arrow of Fate and unleashed a draconic frightening presence on them. All three creatures were stunned! Then Anjou summoned more power from her spear, and breathed astral fire on them!

Zev saw his opening. He hit Lolth with a spell that further stunned her, and then he landed next to her. He snatched away her headband, while DuskEater reached out from his ribcage and stole her staff.

Zev reeled from the awesome power of the fragments. They contained a portion of the power of two distinct gods. The headband held a fragment of Cerbel, God of Prophecy. The Staff was of Mordrun, a God of Magic. Zev immediately began to see visions of the future, and felt new spells at his fingertips. The power was awesome indeed! He used the staff to create a portal back to the town of OstDuven, and left his allies behind! Clarissa cursed.

Lolth was still unmoving. Anjou took the gauntlet and put it on. The gauntlet held the fragment of Yagnor, god of the grevans. Anjou sensed its' power - she could summon 5,000 soldiers to do her bidding! And they were not any soldiers, they were the Faar'maki, the grevan ancestor spirits who had fallen with honor in battle!

Lolth shook off the effects of Zev's spell, and made her way back through the archway. One of her demonbinders went with her. The other was still stunned and could not move. The portal to the demonweb began to fade. Anjou looked in, and realized that she could go in, and summon 5,000 grevans to assault Lolth's Demonweb Pits! She knew she had to do it. Just as the portal was closing, the warden jumped through.

Over in the font, Kava tore into Urgathoa with her axe. Storm gain fell to the ground, dying. The Scarlet Plague had a hold on the avenger! Kava swung again, and again... and again. The barbarian completely destroyed Urgathoa with an absolutely godly assault (She had two attacks... criticals with both. And when she gets a critical, she can attack one more time. The third attack roll - another critical. Total damage: 391 points!).

Urgathoa was defeated.

The heroes cured and revived Storm, as Anjou battled the drow in the Demonweb.

Zev appeared in the streets of Ostduven. His aura swirled about him, and immediately killed a few children and dogs. The blonde-haired people shrieked and ran in all directions. Zev did not care.

He thought for a moment, and then created a portal back into the chamber. He stepped through, walked up to Urgathoa, and took some of her gory remains.

The heroes talked, and decided ultimately to join Anjou. But first, they sought out Yagnor.

The God of the Grevans was not hard to find.
17. The Pallid Princess 2/24/12: We had some interesting developments... Saga of Valor Book One - NyrodSpace War 3 Chapter Seventeen: The Pallid Princess Anjou, Primal Spirit of Storms Clarissa, Goddess of Fire & Battle Kava Frosthowl, Primal Spirit of Ice Storm, God of War Zev, God of Night While our heroes began to assemble Mari's Deck of Many Things at Gardmore Abbey, they did not realize that their recent actions had aided the gods as well. Zev, the lich-god, said, "We should have met in my City of Night." Kava Frosthowl replied, "No." Duskeater, Zev's Imp, who was a demon lord as well as the king of ghouls, said from inside Zev's ribcage, "Oh look, it's the nerd dragonborn." Kava ignored the imp and tried to think of the fastest way to travel to GreatSpace. She said, "I'm sure there are other gods that would be of much better use to you." Farland looked at Clarissa quizzically. "There are no other gods. They're all dead." She smiled at Farland and said, "There are new gods, my friend." He laughed nervously, looking around as if Lolth was in the shadows. And have come to our beautiful world of Hecht... thanks to Lolth." "Uh... No thanks to Lolth," Anjou said. The family gasped. The heresy! Farland cried, "You don't know what you say!" "Oh I know what I say," the warden replied. Storm sighed. "You don't fear Lolth, do you?" Farland looked to the sky, as if he expected lighting to strike them all. "I revere Lolth!" Storm said, "That might be a mistake." Farland whispered to the shifter, "She's always listening!" Anjou said, "Lolth's very busy. She's trying to destroy where we came from." Farland nodded and said judiciously, "I... have no opinion on that. I merely wish to keep my family safe." He spotted some of Storm's dragons flying around their ship. Farland cried out, "Dragons! They're with you?!" Anjou explained, "Where we come from, we're actually deities. In a sphere called NyrodSpace." Farland said, "Well I would advise you to be wary." He whispered, "The drow come out at night. They live underground. And there's cults of Urgathoa spreading. We have been told to accept and embrace her. We are to be subjected to her disease experiments." Zev cast a ritual on the leukodaemons' remains to see what they knew. The drow priestess turned and hissed in drow, "Who dares!?" Storm said, "A god greater than yours." She raised her whip, and Storm cut off her hands, as quick as lightning. Lich!" The heroes talked to each other, as the old grevan woman whispered something to one of her warriors. The warrior called up, "Sheehab demands that you come down and talk to use face to face!" Storm teleported down and stood in the desert before the Grevans. Anjou and Kava accompanied him. The old grevan woman spoke. "I am Sheehab! Who are you? And what do you want with us? I should warn you, these 500 warriors are of my litter. They are some of the strongest grevans there are. They will defend me to the death." The heroes saw that the gevans wore a lot of stolen drow armor, and proudly displayed drow skulls on their shoulders. Zev called to them, "We're here to kill Lolth. We'll earn our respect by challenging you in battle. We'll defeat your best warrior and then we shall work together. That is what we propose." Sheehab said, "Very well. But this will be a fight to the death! Who among you will fight Varuna?" A tall, female, muscled grevan stepped forward. She wielded a massive, chipped two-handed sword. Storm faced off with her. Varuna said in Grevan, "A cat-man?", and laughed. "Should I die today, I shall join the Faar'maki, and there is no greater honor. And so I cannot lose." Storm jumped past her, turned, and cut off Varuna's head (he rolled a critical). The Grevans gasped. Blind Sheehab called out, "What has transpired?". One of her warriors told her, "He killed her with a single blow!". Sheehab nodded and called out, "You are strong indeed! Thank you for sending one of my litter to join the Faar'maki." "It was my pleasure," Storm replied. Anjou said, "I like these people." Sheehab told them where to find the ruined temple in exchange for a promise to tell her if they found Yagnor. The gods made their way to the ruined temple. As they flew over the desert, the weird, massive sun of GreatSpace beamed down on them. DuskEater said to Storm, "You did all right. But Zev would have killed her with more flair!" Storm asked, "Well then why didn't he?" The imp said, "Other people do the work for him. It's just the smart thing to do." Storm said, "So you're lazy." "Not lazy. Smart. I can't believe you don't know this, but you're all just his puppets, don't you get it?! So stupid! Hahahaha! See? I can say it right to your faces!" Zev said, "Don't be rude, my lowly imp." Anjou asked DuskEater, "Do you remember the last time you insulted me?" DuskEater climbed into Zev's ribcage and mumbled, "Who cares? You're so insignificant." Kava said, "You know, I think Zev has a handle on this. The rest of us could probably leave. You can fight Lolth." Zev was amused. He said, "You great gods are being stirred by a lowly imp? I expect better." DuskEater looked at Kava, standing right by the railing. The desert was far below the ship. He whispered a bit too loud, "Master, we should push her off the ship." Kava said, "Mountainroots." (referring to her encounter power which prevented forced movement, which came in handy every single session of the revenge of the giants campaign). Spread throughout the room were her guards and heralds: - Mother's Maw, an ogre-sized floating skull, surrounded by a cloud of flies, trailed maggots and had blood dripping from its' fanged teeth. - Olyx, a vampire priest of Urgathoa - Two Death Titans, each with four soul shards swirling about them. With Urgathoa dead and Lolth on the run, their magic could no longer conceal his location. Yagnor was indeed buried up to his neck in the desert. He had no eyes or mouth, and two vipers grew from his shoulder. One whispered what it saw into his ear. The other viper spoke for him. The gods freed him and brought him to the grevan army. Yagnor agreed to help the heroes in any way he could. The gods gave the grevans some of the magic items they'd found in Urgathoa's sanctum, intent on gaining followers to spread their godly influence to GreatSpace. Kava gave some gifts to the blonde-haired villagers of the world of Hecht. Then, they headed back to the sanctum. Zev rejoined them there, and used the staff of Mordrun to activate the portal to the Demonweb Pits. They stepped through. The gods had decided to take fate into their own hands. They were intent on rampaging through the Demonweb and killing Lolth's true form to end her evil schemes once and for all.... I didn't expect the PCs to jump into the demonweb.
