Some days after the wedding, Varquat's father died and passed the brewery off to his son who gave up adventuring to continue the family business. Varquat's wife was mortified at the prospect of being bound to a domestic life, and, for some reason, her constitution mirrored this wanderlust, which was only deepened by the constant nagging of the amulet. She took ill only three weeks after Varquat took possession of the brewery, and died within a month.
