TL;DR I got through a good chunk of it... I know you hate dinosaurs...bad news for you, they ARE the best beast shape forms. By far. On the plus side, once you can start turning into large and huge elementals, elemental shape is often the best way to go, so you won't be plagued with 'saur shapes forever. As for Archetypes, I suggest all PF druids be Menhir Savants (from UM). It's just straight out better than regular druid, and even better...the abilities are cool. [s]Seeing[/s] sensing dead people, teleporting the party through plants cross country, using power from the earth to cast more strongly, going ethereal...it's awesome! Don't know how much that helped, thought this thread was looking for advice, not some rant/houserule ideas. Some other quick things: - With the Boon Companion feat, you can take the Feather (Animal) domain, and get a bunch of free (though mediocre overall) spells per day and a nice perception bonus, while still having a full progression animal companion, for the price of waiting a few levels for it and spending a feat. Good deal to me, kinda rough at level 1, though. - If you don't care about sheer power/optimization, a 1 level dip into Master of Many Styles / Sohei (they can combine!) Monk at level 3+ for Crane Wing feat (you need to be level 3 to meet the pre-reqs for Crane Style, which you need to have to take Crane Wing) and lots of other sexy monk things like wis to AC is pretty awesome. Later on once you have Natural Spell, you can look into spending feats on your 2nd allowed style (I think Dragon or Snake is most useful 2nd one for a druid).
