The Princess leaves the Tower near sunset and flies around the city for a few hours. There's unusual traffic volume leaving the city this evening as she flies about. She lands in the family boat house and after making sure she is alone she says, "Princess Starlight Slumbers." Brandon sits down and works on an excuse for being out all day. His body feels funny, much like how he feels right after turning into The Princess. This was the first time he spent over 10 hours as The Princess. His phone beeps. Brandon wonders where his phone goes when he is The Princess. For that matter, where is The Princess' clothes right now. He fishes the phone out of his pocket. Four emails, nineteen texts and apparently half of them are from Mom. Crud. He scans through them. Most of them were sent in the afternoon, so he can claim bad cell coverage. He leaves the boathouse and heads back to the mansion. He enters through the garage and notices that his Dad's car is missing. He probably got called in to discuss evacuation plans. Probably won't be home for a while. Entering the mudroom off the kitchen, he is relieved that the kitchen is empty. He reheats some things he finds in the fridge and starts eating, facing away from the doorway. "Where have you been?" He was expecting the question, though he was not expecting the questioner. "Out," he says, turning to look at his sister. "Mom's been looking for you all day." "That's nice. What have you been up to?" "Packing. We're leaving in the morning. Going to stay with Granma Byrnes." Brandon almost misses her sly smile. "No we aren't. Nice try." "Oh, you use to be more gullible." She pouts. "I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of Princess Starlight tomorrow. That would be so cool." "How do you know she'll be involved?" "It was all over the news. Princess Starlight and some other less known supers were seen entering the Centurion Tower this morning." Brandon rolls his eyes. "You fanboy just as badly about that stupid band, Steamship Zombies, so not a word about me liking Princess Starlight." "It's SteamPUNK Zombies. And they don't really compare to your Princess." Brandy stormed out of the kitchen, turning at the doorway to add. "Yes, she's much better." Brandon finished his meal and cleaned up. He was about to head up to his room when he heard the garage door open. So he waited. He father walked in. "Hey, Dad." "Brandon, did you Mother read you the riot act yet?" He put down his briefcase and overcoat. "I haven't seen her yet. So they have you working on an evacuation plan at work?" "Nice subject change, and yes, there are so many research projects we have to prioritize them which leads to never ending meeting. I have to head back out in a couple hours." He opened the fridge much like his son had and fixed a late dinner. Brandon left and scurried up to his room safely. He knew he should get some rest. He would need his wits in the morning.
