That said, it's pretty much a Whirler-only thing.</p><p></p><p><strong>Recommended Light Blades</strong></p><p>[sblock]</p><p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff">Rapier</span> (PHB)</strong> - It sounds odd, but a 1d8 Light Blade can have a bit of punch on a Barbarian.</p><p></p><p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff">Spiked Chain</span> (PHB)</strong> - While this seems like a mistake, Spiked Chain Training makes this the most damaging Light Blade in the game, which makes it appealing to a Whirler.</p><p>[/sblock]</p><p></p><p><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Maces</strong></span> - Essentially a weaker version of Hammers. Nah.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Picks</strong></span> - Anything these can do, other weapons can do better.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: #00ccff"><strong>Polearms</strong></span> - An excellent weapon group, this opens up some interesting options in Reach and some darn good feat support (especially if you Multiclass Fighter). A sweet choice for a Barbarian.</p><p></p><p><strong>Recommended Polearms</strong></p><p>[sblock]</p><p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff">Glaive</span> (PHB)</strong> - While the stats are weak, the support that opens up for a Heavy Blade + Polearm combo is darn nice.</p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong><span style="color: #00ccff">Greatspear</span> (AV)</strong> - Accurate, decently damaging, and Polearm + Spear support is pretty much the best control combo out there. Likely the weapon of choice for a Polearm Barbarian.</p><p></p><p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff">Halberd</span> (PHB)</strong> - Essentially a Battleaxe with Reach. Don't go there.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: #ff9900"><strong>Hide</strong></span> - This is the armor you were meant to wear, and the support for it is excellent. The armor I would recommend every Barbarian wear.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: #800080"><strong>Chain</strong></span> - If your Dexterity is low (I recommend you don't do that), this will at least make enemies roll to hit your AC.</p><p></p><p><strong>Scale</strong> - Costs a couple of feats, but this has decent AC and the support will get your speed back up to par. I still don't recommend Heavy Armor in general, but this is the best one you can get.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: #800080"><strong>Plate</strong></span> - Costs a whopping three feats, and slows you down.
