Okay, Mentally prepare yourself for this Assassin's Creed crash-course: SPOILER ALERT BELOW You are Desmond Miles: Las Vegas Bartender born into the order of Assassins. You were secretly kidnapped by a mysterious group called the Knight's Templar (The guys from the crusades.) who run their organization under the guise of Abstergo Entertainment. They use this thing called the animus to extract enemies from DNA in which you act out to find out the location of this thing called the Apple of Eden (Not a real apple.) The apple has the ability to bend the mind of human beings, which is why the templars want it. They try to locate the apple by using the memories of Desmond's Ancestor - Altaïr Ibn'Lahad. In order to follow his ancestors memories he must enact his ancestor's very same actions, synchronizing with the memories. You're doing what has happened already. Following the story of Desmond you are broken out of Abstergo and brought to a safe house to locate the apple so you can get to it before they do, and protect humanity. To do so, you follow in the footsteps of Desmond's Ancestor Elio Auditore da Firenze. You find the Apple, which leads to a vault which holds a hologram of this chick from the first civilization called Minerva, and she modifies the apple somehow. She then calls Elio the prophet which she can speak through, and addresses Desmond through Ezio. She tells Desmond the world is gonna end due to a supermassive solar flare. Desmond says WTF and Game 2 ends. Continuing through the story you track the apple through the rest of Elio's memories toward the later parts of his life. You find it, and accidentally stab Desmond'slove interest Lucy! (Oh no!) and then Desmond goes into a coma. A series of numbers that say 122112 show up everywhere in history. It's kinda odd they can't figure out why. End Brotherhood. In Revelations, you are put into the animus to keep your body's vital systems in check. The only way to survive this coma, and for the animus to stabilize you is by completing synchronization with Ezio Auditore's life, finishing Ezio's story. (It's actually really good but not pertinent.) You also learn when the world ends. It turns out 122112 is a date, meaning: 12/21/12, otherwise known as December 21st, 2012. (That's when the Mayan calendar ended and we were all supposed to die.) In AC III, You: Desmond Miles, now awake from your coma, must find a way to stop the end of the world. END SPOILERS It really goes through most of this in the beginning of the game though so you should be fine.
