Taken from personal experience: 1. Top choice is V. Human Fighter 2/Abjuration Wizard 18 No other choice even comes close. Action Surge + Simulacrum + Contingency = you are literally your own party and don't have to rely on anyone. Infinite casting of Shield = always full Abjuration shield which means you'll have MORE health than an equivalent level Fighter. Full plate + shield (magical) means you have effectively much higher AC than any other build with access to the Wizard's spell list (best spell list by far). Seriously, the build is 100% broken at top levels. The ability to combine 4 full spells in one turn, with 2 sources of concentration (you and simulacrum) just wrecks balance. Haste and GWM (free V.Human feat if you want) means you'll pretty reliably have 2/3 attacks per turn, especially with a Familiar providing advantage. You have high AC, high HP (when counting Abjur Ward), fantastic saves against spells and damage, and you are the most powerful spell caster in the game (the difference between a level 18 and level 20 Wizard is nothing). 2. Second place is more nuanced. It's basically a choice between being more melee (Paladin 2/Draconic Sorc 18), or more spell casting (Cleric 2/Abjuration 18). 3. V. Human is always the best choice. Always. Free feat > all racial abilities for pure powergaming reasons.
