ooc: If anyone would like to retroactively interject any last words in the tavern scene, feel free. Otherwise, it's time to press on. After a long night of eating, drinking, dancing, introductions, and general merry-making, the celebration of the Quest for the Everflame finally winds to a close. Each of the intrepid heroes makes their way back to his/her home and settles in for some much needed rest. Who knows, it may just be the last opportunity for a good night's sleep for a long while. The following morning, the 4th of Neth, dawns cool and clear. Fortunately, the party isn't expected to assemble in the town square until noon, so it gives some extra time to shake off any unpleasant after-effects of the previous night's revelry. As each one gathers weapons and gear, the young heroes recall the words of Mayor Uptal...that they are expected to travel light, carrying only what they absolutely need—weapons, armor, spellbooks, etc.—as rations and other generic equipment will be provided. As the PCs stride into the town square, they notice that the area is otherwise deserted (an expected part of the ceremony). The ensuing wait for the clock to strike noon offers a moment for the adventurers to talk again, in privacy.
