His expression stormy, Phythas raises the bludgeoning end of his hooked hammer and charges the goblin standing over the yellow dog. Nearing the goblin, the gnome growls, "You die here, tonight, vermin!" Phythas moves to bludgeon the goblin but the creature proves quite canny and dodges to the side just at the last second. The goblin being attacked by Phythas skitters sideways then swipes its lit torch at Phythas but misses. Cackling in mad glee, the goblin jumps to and fro, bobbing and dodging the gnome's hooked hammer. The second goblin pawing at the dead dog gapes in awe at the bravado of its comrade then joins in the sport. The creature flashes its torch at Phythas and also misses. Thoroughly enjoying taunting the gnome, both goblins break into a cacophony of shrill shrieks and laughter. Rapier in hand, Penn barrels after Phythas and charges into the fray. The halfling bull rushes the second of the pair of goblins by the dead dog. Catching the stunned goblin completely by surprise, Penn shoulders the stinking creature backward a full 5 feet away from the dog and the dead boy. Ravi's face twists as disgust and rage flood his body upon viewing the scene before them. "Those... th-th-those gjarlo dzuh... valfakanar," Ravi mutters, using the foulest Dwarven curse he can think of, "w-w-will p-p-pay for this." The acolyte raises his crossbow, does his best to steady his hand--now shaking with anger rather than nervousness--and shoots a bolt at one of the goblins lurking by the dead dog and boy. Taking aim at the goblin pushed backward by Penn, Ravi fires but the bolt flies wide and misses the goblin. Wide-eyed, both goblins turn and look into the alley for the source of the projectile. The pair of torch-wielding goblins capering by the fire stop their dancing and sniff the air. One of the creatures looks to the alley whilst the other has a good laugh at the expense of its kin who just got bobbed backward by an angry hobbit. The goblin standing off to the side by the bonfire spits on the ground in ire but raises her grizzled voice two notches louder and continues to sing. Pointing at Phythas and Penn, the gobliness raises her whip and cracks it once in the air for emphasis. The two goblins ringing the fire begin closing on Phythas and Penn, dogslicers in hand. "Look to the boy," Rainier says over his shoulder to the crew from the playhouse. "No one here deserves to be so debased in death like that ever again." Snarling, Rainier charges the capering goblins closer to the bonfire. The tip of his greatsword raised overhead, Rainier swings wide, letting the weight of the blade carry through for a solid blow against Goblin 3 that deals 7 points of damage and fells the fetid creature on the spot. The second goblin is within reach, but Rainier must first regain balance after his charge. "This will silence your song." Gron says in Goblin, drawing an arrow to his ear. Targeting the singer, Gron exhales and releases his arrow. The crow-fletched arrow flies on track to hit the chanter but runs out of steam and instead sticks--fletching up--in the packed dirt of the grandstand area. The five porters nod at Rainier's command and begin to warily circle closer to the two goblins flanking the dead teenage boy. Two of the men produce knives. The other three are unarmed but, in their semi-drunken state, have wide smiles of anticipation affixed to their faces.
