Quaketongue, from a safe distance, beats his arm and holds an odd symbol with a high-pitched shriek. A moment later, a large bird of prey seems to appear above your head, swooping down to engage in combat. It's talons scratch harmlessly against the hide of the wounded thri-kreen. Ugg swings again, batting the last unwounded thri-kreen with his mighty fist. It goes flying through the air and lands with a crunch on the rocky terrain. Curvic cannot get a clean shot with his bow but he continues his song, his voice continuing to inspire. Heartseer arrives in the mix and concentrates for a moment, engaging his inertial armor. Erianna points at the remaining thri-kreen and concentrates. A sharp crystal shard suddenly flies towards her opponent, but it streaks past the creature's head, just missing it. The remaining thri-kreen, seeing its desperate situation, springs away and runs as fast as its powerful legs will carry it. Curvic, awaiting such a shot, fires at the fleeing kreen. His shot is perfect (critical), striking the creature in the fleshy area in the hinge between the armor plate at the back of its head and its neck. The arrow passes through and comes out of the mouth between its sharp mandibles. It takes two more steps than drops into the rocky dirt, twitching. As the last obvious foe falls, you all look around for another enemy. No living enemies can be seen, as the other thri-kreen you saw seem to have withdrawn. Another small raiding party attacked at the other side of the camp. They were more successful, killing another two guards. Besides the crying of several wounded and the screaming of the frightened, all is quiet in the desert beyond the light of the campfires. Some elves limp into the caravan's light. They, too were hit, as many of their number are wounded and many more are missing.
