Nobody outside of LG or LFR campaigns played the adventures even though they were free and written by volunteers for little if any money (of varying quality as well). </p><p></p><p>Now you can play in an organized play event without being a member of the RPGA so long as WotC gets paid AND the adventures can be run outside of organized play to widen their appeal and sales. Seems like they could have gone with the subscription model like the old RPGA before WotC made it free. Instead they are allowing a more a la carte model that allows players to pick and choose their adventures. This means they new Encounters have to be of a high enough quality to be worth it. </p><p></p><p>Not sure if that's better or worse.</p></blockquote><p></p>
