Axel Dembe (Child Version) Axel Dembe Str: 10 Dex: 11 Con: 10 Int: 9 Wis: 10 Cha: 10 Axel is a happy kid but a bit on the quiet side. His father is a woodcutter and carpenter, supplying firewood for those that need it but don't have time to get it themselves like the innkeeper. He also cuts wood to make furniture. Axel's mother keeps the house running and helps out father where she can. Axel also helps his father in everything that has to do with making a living for the family. He especially loves the trips into the forest to cut the trees. He helps but is prone to wander off on his own at times just to be alone with the Mother, nature herself. The rustling of the trees as if they are trying to speak to him, the chattering of a squirrel as he walks by, the look of a deer weighing Axel to see if he is friend or foe. He is quick to return when father calls, dashing under limbs and over fallen logs. He is always mindful and obedient to his father when needed but always looking for a chance to venture out on his own when possible. As long as the work is done, his father lets Axel wander as he pleases. When in the village and free from splitting and hauling wood for people, Axel enjoys the company of the village kids and joins in their games. Wandering alone in the woods is fun but Axel seems just at home in a group of his friends. He may not take the lead on choosing the next game but he's always glad to be part of the game and to be with his friends. Axel works hard but has fun too and even at this young age, he has an understanding that his life is good. This knowledge helps in making Axel an optimistic kid, always thinking that things will turn out right, whatever "right" might mean. "Bad" stuff happens but you work through it and then you play. Axel is a lean agile boy with shoulder length black hair that his mom tries to get him to comb every couple of days. His hair gets in front of eyes when he's rough housing with the other kids but it doesn't seem to bother him and he rarely tries to move it out of the way. His eyes are a grayish blue that seem to change in the amount of gray or blue that is in them as the weather changes. His clothes are functional, if more than a bit worn, and he runs around barefoot as much as the weather and his chores will let him.
