I was gonna wait until tomorrow to kick this off but...nah. LET'S GOOOOO! It's the final round--all those weeks of voting has lead us to this moment. It was no surprise that the #3-ranked Paladin defeated the #6-ranked Monk. And it was only a very minor upset when the Paladin went on to defeat the #2-ranked Rogue--if you recall during the playoffs, the Rogue and the Paladin were only 4 points apart. The odds were definitely against the Paladin in the semi-finals, though, going up against the top-ranked Fighter. The Martials Semi-Final match was too close to call for days...it looked like the Fighter was going to win by an alphabetical tie-breaker. But toward the end of the game, a series of last-hour votes put the Paladin over the top, putting our righteous warrior within smiting distance of the title! It's a completely different game over on the left side of the bracket, however, where the "Casters" of D&D have been duking it out. For those of us who love to cheer for the underdog, this has been your game. The closest thing we have to a "Cinderella" story in this competition, the #6-ranked Druid started out in third-to-last place on the bracket, defeating the #3-ranked Warlock right out of the gate, followed by the #2 Cleric in the quarter-finals, and then the #1-ranked Wizard just last week. Now the Druid has advanced to the top slot of the bracket for a shot at the Championship--can they keep the momentum? Here's where the bracket currently stands.
