Thanks to Cludge's surprisingly effective charisma, the crowd understands that the Brigade was just trying to protect the pie, and the Pie Parade continues down Allimon street. The children are busy hustling adults away from the pie, telling them all the while how they fought off the mage and his invisible minions who tried to steal the pie. "Ye cou'n't see them, but we fought 'em off, li'l bugger monstahs they were, invisible ones, we fought 'em back wit' our bare hands, we did!" The adults, glad to see the normally delinquent children feeling the joy of responsibility, laughed and humored the kids. The pie has a nice radius of space around it now. The trek down Allimon Street is uneventful. The intersection with Thunis comes up, just past Livingston. The brigade turns right, onto N. Thunis, and the Edwyd house is in sight. The fiddler ups his tempo and the crowd begins clapping in earnest. However, the noise of the crowd drowns out an important sound: [sblock=Listen check, DC:20]The loud ringing bells of the watch are coming from S. Thunis. A quick turn around reveals the reason: A man in plain gray pants and shirt with broken manacles around his wrists and ankles is running for all he's worth, right towards the parade. He's about 45' from the crowd now. Behind him, about 120' from the crowd, is a lone guard, huffing and puffing.[/sblock] OOC: Everybody make a listen check and roll initiative. If you pass the listen check, you can post your action for the surprise round. To AGFlynn: Almost done! If this combat takes as long as the last few, we'll be all wrapped up in less than a week. Are you wanting to get Cludge back to the RDI for Wik's vignette? If so, he's right here, I'm sure he'd be willing to delay for a few days.
