### This is just a homebrew background I have been considering. Though, someone might find it interesting.### In the struggle to build more powerful tool's to enable to build more powerful weapons the Great Artificers of the Age researched the Hexblades made by the Raven Queen. The idea of making a weapon that could make its own army was undeniably a powerful tool. It took 1,000 artificers to create and 100 Arch Wizards to bring to life in ritual but the first of these sentient weapons was forged. Damascus who with the aid of many artificer began building constructions empowered with its own sentient power into what we now know as Warforged Juggernauts. This process was slow however and with these astounding result the Artificers wished to double their production and so forged a second might weapon: Urumi who surprised and initial disappointed artificers by making physically weaker more agile versions instead of making more of what Damascus made. When sent into battle however it was quickly realized that these differences added to the strength and capabilities of the armies acting largely as scouts and archers instead of just more mighty front line fighters. In the end this was more functional at increasing the effective number than more juggernauts. These became known as Warforged Skirmishers. The Artificers were please but being pushed for more... a third great sentient weapon was made... Acumen who (not to the surprise of the artifices now that the link to design and personality has been identified) made another design that became known as Warforged Envoys. More specialized even than Skirmishers they often game with tool for their craft and it was among them that the first warforged to use magic were spotted. Have somehow been crafted to use them Warforg capable of using arcane scroll and ritual and spells started appearing as well as warforge with innate powers that greatly resembled the hexblade warlocks that the RavenQueens weapons had made. These abilities and reports of Jauggernauts summoning magic weapons (Pact of the Blade or Eldritch Knights) from the air and Skirmishers with summoning or training allies to scout and fight (Pact of the Chain and Beast Master Rangers) arose. Having realized their goals, these new sightings of unexpected change, caused the artificers to grow fearful of making another. They had become too independent and too powerful and so they have remained only 3 for the time. Together they are often referred to as the Soul Forge Hammers or by the Warforged often as the Forge Fathers taking on an almost spiritual relationship as the creators of the Warforged and any many cases the source of continual power. It is not uncommon for Warforge to call its specific creator for example "In the name Forge Father Damascus I will see your end!" or to refer to them as group in mixed Warforge company.
