Freebies and Pay What You Want

TheNatOne released the second edition of RedHack, the OSR fantasy system with no character classes and deadly combat. The 84-page book includes the full rules for the game, a bestiary of 49 monsters, and an introductory adventure.

Tin Hat Games released Weird World, a tongue-in-cheek “post-post-post-apocalyptic” RPG. Take on the role of a Landwalker travelling from colony to colony in a ruined world populated by automatons, mutants, aliens, and more. Also available in Italian.

Small Cog LLC has a quickstart for their new stone age inspired 5e setting and system Born from Ice. Get the first five levels of each player class plus new feats, background, equipment, and more. The introductory adventure Blood and Clay is available as a separate download.

The classic premise is here for Mörk Borg with Rat Cellar: A Mörk Borg Pamphlet from Christian Eichhorn. It’s precisely what it says on the tin, there are sewers with rats that must be slain.

And if you want the same thing for D&D, A. B. Funing has Cellar Rats (One-page Adventure for Level 1 & 2) which sends the players into the cellar to clear out the rats with tools to make the adventure feel as immersive as possible with descriptions of smells and sounds.

Random generators can be helpful either when you need something on the fly or just some inspiration, and Legend of Talik has a pair of tables out useful for players and GMs. The first is the Rogue Name Generator and the second the Wizard Name Generator, each a set of five d100 tables with two getting you a first name, two for a last name, and the last giving you a title for your character or NPC.

Over on Dungeonmasters Guild, Thomas Kolar is back once again with another Disney-inspired Domain of Dread with Hades’ Town. And because of the industrial age of rail inspiration, there are also rules for adapting this Domain to an origin in Eberron.

If you want to add a bit of variety to the introductory adventure Stormwreck Isle, Keith Stonefield released Stormwreck Isle 005: Pirate Treasure, an adventure for a 4th level party adding a new secret cave for players to discover and explore.

Speaking of new options for a published adventure, David Dunhill’s Curse of Strahd Rebitten revamp of the published Ravenloft adventure adds a bit of holiday for with The Trouble with Bunnycorns, an Easter-themed addition to the campaign or can be played as a solo adventure and designed for a party of any level.

If you’re running the heist adventure Keys from the Golden Vault, Tom Bretherton wants to add some ambiance to your table with Themes from Golden Keys, a collection of eight looping tracks designed to accompany each moment of the adventure.

Non-magical items can get a bit boring in D&D, so Sewage Orc wants to help with A Kobolds Guide to Awesome Ores featuring 20 new metals that can be used for weapons or armor to add new traits to make something unique.

Romance can be a touchy subject in tabletop RPGs, so having a product like Rebecca Farrar’s TTRPG Romance Calibration Tool can help a lot in avoiding awkwardness, misunderstanding, and miscommunication by providing a checklist with various options to be clear what everyone is comfortable with.

Mustafa Sharif has The Rubblebelt Race, a one-shot that sends the party into the titular race across a vast volcanic range with a warning that the adventure is “unbalanced” but made for a 5th level party, so expect a lot of the chaos that makes race stories fun.

Veteran game designer Owen K.C. Stephens has posted a GoFundMe to cover the costs of his medical treatment as he fights cancer. Owen’s list of credits is more of a list of popular RPGs as he has worked on Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Starfinder, d20 Modern, Star Wars, d20 Modern, Dragon Age, and that’s just the start.

Mean Green Press is hosting the Hope Jam! Bundle on itch.io featuring 34 indie tabletop RPGs. It's got adventures both for playing a house taking over Arrakis, and for houses totally unconcerned so long as their CHOAM share pays off enough...
