He set his goal on being the indispensable aide to the tribal shaman, for the status of shaman would elevate and protect him. This druid, Grashnak Hardhead, a mountain druid, tested Rakthor in many ways, before initiating him into the Howling Circle. Then he trained with many different druids of the circle being sent on to the next teacher when he had mastered what one had to offer. He developed an affinity for the wolf and other canines that was strengthened in his studies. Having done so well, he was asked to become a direct agent of the circle, set to tasks the circle deemed needed direct intervention. Rakthor agreed wanting the challenge and not especially wanted to go back to the tribe he was barely tolerated in.</p><p></p><p>Since then, Rakthor has wandered training kennels, taking up bounty hunting, and other jobs as he finds them. But every so often, an animal messenger or whispering wind brings him the Circles next task.</p><p></p><p>Rakthor embraces the mystique he has garnered on these missions of sabotage, assassination and acquisition. He tries to conceal the extent of his powers, and the various rumors speak to his success thus far.
