Wyll's story is about him being too stupid to think that making a deal with a fiend will have any consequences. (Also should be noted that Wyll has significantly less dialogue than other main party members, with nearly one-third less than Astarion.) Karlach's story is about her being too stupid to realize she isn't white and male enough deserve a happy ending. Of all the characters, she's the one who doesn't get any chance at a satisfactory ending—because the game is unfinished, and the writers couldn't even halfass her ending. Then the studio head went and called Karlach being destined for death or damnation the ending she "deserves". (It should also be noted that Karlach was originally conceived with African facial features, but then was made more Caucasian-looking, probably because Larian realized it was too overtly racist to have a black-looking woman with a storyline about how she doesn't deserve a chance at a better life after being enslaved.) Lae'zel's story is about her being too stupid to realize her entire culture is savage and evil and stupid, and the good ending of her storyline is for her to give up entirely on her culture and adopt human society—and like a lot of shoddy fantasy written by white dudes, Larian's writers see humans/elves as "white" people and other races as the "other" (whose entire races are either evil or exist solely to be objectified in victimization). Also, numerous queer characters exist solely as minor characters to be killed off in side-quests, or as minor villains. The number of queer characters allowed to have any sort of happy ending can be counted on one hand. You don't hear any sort of this criticism because BG3 stans are rabid and cannot tolerate any criticism of the game, mostly because the fandom consists of angry white men who have their racist and misogynistic fantasies fulfilled by the game and cannot stand being called out on their crap. (For instance, the game pretending it has sympathy for the tieflings while they exist purely to be powerless and victimized and having numerous characters spout out all kinds of anti-immigration dogwhistles, and oh here's a bunch of tieflings who steal from and victimize the people they seek refuge with, etc.)
