The silence in the ready room is broken as the door opens slowly. The newcomer enters and looks up with some degree of disdain as the speaker above the door announces his name to the empty room. "The Amazing Mr Jones." The stage magician is dressed in a Resolutes’ uniform, the one piece making a somewhat incongruous picture when combined with his long black cloak and tall opera hat. Behind him trundles a large suitcase on rollers, obviously very heavy, which Mr Jones manoeuvres across the carpet towards a small table in the corner before opening. Reaching into the bag Mr Jones pulls out a large pile of books which he stacks haphazardly on the coffee table. Modern hardbacks with brightly coloured jackets and titles like Stagecraft and Advanced Magic are intermingled with older leather bound journals. Copies of Magical Rope Ties and Escapes and A Magician Among the Spirits are among the older books which he treats with special care. Finally once all the books are arrayed Mr Jones somehow manages pull out an old fashioned Singer sewing machine complete with treadle mechanism from his suitcase. He proceeds to set this up before settling into an armchair and a book.
