EVERYONE "Why must you display your audacity upon us, upon the simple, forgotten dead? Isn't it enough for you to have your blossoming fields beyond? Why have you come? The altars run dry, the temples are forgotten... The minds of the priests, twisted beyond recognition." - the voice stops for a moment, but continues in its dragged pace soon after. It seems oblivious of the heroes' exchanges. "Of course... You seek the masters... The teraphim.... Why seek the servant when you can parley with the masters?" "But what do you seek from them? Pardon, or vengeance?" - slowly, the pleading tone begins to leave the voice, twisting it with the taste of misery and spite. HARFIK/THULWAR The monk suddenly identifies the danger in the echoing voice. The attack will soon be ready. It probably had it prepared even before the heroes entered this chamber. Oddly enough, the entire area seems abandoned, and yet the giantess didn't think twice before wishing to go even deeper into it, instead of trying her luck towards east. It might have been a proud attitude, placed to provoke Aanzu's ire, but at the same time, her actions are somehow too bold for one carrying a child. Some steps behind, Thulwar is capable of studying the surrounding area, protected by his terrifying machine. Even through the thick, hot vapours, he can identify patterns that are typical of Teraphim interference. The altars are drawn with transparent ducts that go down, disappearing into the floor. Towards each altar's surface, they're linked to small orifices, dented, finger-sized holes that would surely bleed any appendages placed within them. Odds are these holes serve as ways to gather and flow sacrificial blood - even though no notes of former expeditions mention blood sacrifices to the Teraphim...
