Moving through the crowd and trying to appear nonchalant, you spend a few minutes asking questions. Most of the warforged passing through this area seem to have little interest in anything outside of their daily jobs. Eventually you find one that seems a little brighter than the other models working here. It says that Khyber's Gate lies on the far side of this district. It tells you that this district is the industrial section like Ashblack to the west. Here the great forges are powered by the molten lava flows that well up from the depths. He gives you sketchy directions and moves off to direct a team of other warforged transporting an ore cart. Moving through the sooty tunnels you can feel the temperature rising. The sound of distant pounding grows louder until you can actually feel the vibration through the soles of your feet. Several times the tunnel opens up and you see the vast industrial complex that fuels the economy of Breland. Large hoppers of metal are dumped into vats to be melted down, refined, then transported down a complex maze of conveyers to be cooled and shaped. Hundreds of warforged toil here in the heat with mechanical precision and unwavering focus on the task at hand. Here at least, they seem more like golems than sentiant beings. The tunnels eventually lead you away from the heart of the industrial district and farther north. The tunnels are still covered in soot but now you begin to see more trash like discarded cloth and bits of wood. The number of warforged start to thin only to be replaced by humanoids of all shapes and sizes. Some scurry through the tunnels on their own errands and avoid your gaze, others openly watch you with suspicion. There are many beggars here lying at every tunnel intersection. They raise their hands at you as you pass begging for anything you can spare. They seem to thin out the closer you get to the next district as if even they would not choose to live too close to this area. Finally, you reach an area where several tunnels meet in a massive cavern. Ramshackle booths have been set up here where various humanoids have set up to try and make a meager living selling goods to anyone that passesby. At the far end you can see large buildings made from mismatched materials possibly serving as living space. Many goblins fill this cavern moving quickly out of the way of the larger beings. Several merchants have already spotted you and are calling out for your attention and for you to come visit their booths. A gaggle of goblin children suddenly appear and run up to you. Each of them holds out their hands and cries out for you to help them and give them money. Their loud begging causes a few heads to turn your way. Spot Check DC:21 [SBLOCK] Sleight of Hand Check (1d20+6=21) One of the larger goblin children is deftly lifting a few coins from Johanel's purse.
