IRON DM WINTER 2004 Tournament Sign-Up Starts Today Hey All! Time for another IRON DM Tournament. . . IRON DM WINTER 2004 Sign up starts at 12:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. . .. Today! If for some reason ENWorld is down at that time - then look for a sign-up thread on The Rat Bastard Home For Orphaned Children. However, before signing up, it is important to note that this IRON DM tournament is going to be slightly different. There will be 12 contestants. Two of those slots are reserved for the Fall Tournament 2003 IRON DM (Wulf Ratbane) and for the Holiday 2003 IRON DM from Nutkinland's Newbie Edition (Enkhidu) - so that leaves 10 slots open for sign up. However, as the mathematically apt among you may have already figure out 12 constestants we will be left with three people in the final round. These three finalists will be competing a double-elimination round - where they face each of the other final contestants - so each person has two matches. If somehow it works out that each of the finalists wins one of the matches (i.e. a tie) there will be a built in tie-breaking mechanism that will be explained when those matches start. But the reason why I am explaing this upfront is because it means that the tournament will be 5 extra match-ups - and thus will last a bit longer than normal - so signing up means you'll be commited for the long haul - and means you should be fairly certain you'll have time to participate for the next week or three. As usual we'll ask for a handful of alternates - but personally I will give a 'bye' before I introduce an alternate past the first round. I'll be posting the rules and such in a little while. I look forward to judging a good mix of new faces and old hats. . .
