His emerald-green eyes sparkle with joy for life, observing and evaluating everything as they take in the beauty of the natural world around him. He wears finely woven clothing consisting of a goldenrod tunic embroidered with leaf patterns in fern green, over dark chestnut trousers which are tucked into supple tan leather boots, and covered by his dappled green cloak. Baeleth wears several silver rings on each hand, each intricate and finely crafted, and a silver bracelet formed of delicate interconnecting leaves on his left wrist. At his left hip he carries an elven thinblade, on his right hip a dagger in front of a quiver of arrows, and on his back a shortbow.</p><p></p><p><strong>Personality</strong></p><p>Baeleth is charming and affable, but at times he lets his independent and self-sufficient nature distance him from others. Always trying to learn new abilities, he sometimes loses himself in the pursuit of such knowledge, to the detriment of other more important tasks which should instead hold his attention. When it comes down to it though, he is ready to respond at a moments notice, whether the situation requires bladework or his wit and charm he is prepared to be at the forefront.</p><p></p><p><strong>Background</strong></p><p>The youngest of two children, Baeleth was an intelligent child, curious about many things and like most elves he had the time to study them at his leisure. Younger than his sister Nyaera by twenty years he did not see her often in his early years as she was away, learning the bardic arts from a master in a distant community, though he did love it when she came to visit as she always brought new songs which they would sing together and when he finally gained mastery over his awkward young limbs she also taught him to dance. He spent most of his time with his father though, as his mother Sylianna was often away in her tower working on new magics, and experimenting with dangerous materials. </p><p></p><p>Even though it was only him and his father Korsan most of the time, mealtimes were often a large affair as all of his cousins, aunts, and uncles would contribute foodstuffs to meals which his father would prepare on a daily basis, as he was well known to be a fine cook. Baeleth most times assisted his father with preparation for the meals, doing the simple work of cleaning and washing what was provided, but once he had mastered all the basic skills he was encouraged to make his own contribution. He quickly found that he liked working with the assortment of foodstuffs to make unique and enjoyable dishes to please the senses.</p><p></p><p>Once he was old enough he was fostered out to his uncle Aribrar on his father’s side, a jewellery crafter of some repute, after having admired his work during their shared meals over the years. Finding the delicate work to his liking, Baeleth slowly improved his skill and artistry over a decade under his uncles tutelage, making many simple, but exquisite pieces. The finest piece being a silver bracelet formed of delicate interconnecting leaves, which he presented to his sister on her birthday.</p><p></p><p>Moving on after learning from his uncle, Baeleth began an intensive study of swordplay. Studying with one of the masters of the blade, he found over several years he had a talent for the rapier, but he thirsted to master a more elite weapon...the thinblade wielded by his mentor. Driving himself to further excellence, he worked long and hard over many years before he was finally adjudged to be competent with a thinblade by his master, which was high praise indeed, especially considering he had only studied with him for a score of years.</p><p></p><p>Deciding to pursue a more artistic path again for a while, Baeleth began to wander the woods, painting animals, plants, and scenes of the natural world, often taking months on a single canvas as he taught himself to paint. His first efforts, while crude, captured the feel of the objects painted, but over time his skill began to match his vision. Slowly as his mastery over the medium grew, he began painting likeness’ of the people closest to him, attempting to capture both the essence and the appearance of the individual. Succeeding for the most part he finally, after two decades, decided to move on to another endeavour.</p><p></p><p>After speaking with his mother, Baeleth decided to study magic under his ancient and powerful great grandfather Uthael on his mother’s side, the teacher his own mother had learned the art from. The early lessons were arduous and at times seemed pointless, but he persevered knowing there must be some reason. Over several decades he studied both magic and most of the languages he now knows under the exacting instruction of the mighty wizard, learning much of his family history in the process. During his time with the old mage, he also painted a likeness of him, by far his best work to date as it captured both the power and kindness the elder elf showed him. Eventually his great grandfather deemed him complete in his studies, with only a little practice and experience required, and sent him on his way with a spellbook and the components for the spells therein.</p><p></p><p>Prepared after more than a century of study and reflection to explore the wider world, Baeleth is especially interested in seeing the human dueling schools and gauging the humans skill with a blade. Two weeks before he was due to leave he organised to meet his sister, but when he came to the appointed meeting place, she was not there. He found ground disturbed, and the bracelet he had made for her over fifty years earlier lay discarded near the disturbed ground. Quickly returning to the settlement, he informed the guard of events and they sent trackers out to look for her. Even the most experienced among them could only follow the tracks a short distance from the point of her abduction, before they just disappeared, though they did report the direction as being towards the human lands. He quickly found that he liked working with the assortment of foodstuffs to make unique and enjoyable dishes to please the senses. Once he was old enough he was fostered out to his uncle Aribrar on his father’s side, a jewellery crafter of some repute, after having admired his work during their shared meals over the years. Finding the delicate work to his liking, Baeleth slowly improved his skill and artistry over a decade under his uncles tutelage, making many simple, but exquisite pieces. The finest piece being a silver bracelet formed of delicate interconnecting leaves, which he presented to his sister on her birthday. Moving on after learning from his uncle, Baeleth began an intensive study of swordplay. Studying with one of the masters of the blade, he found over several years he had a talent for the rapier, but he thirsted to master a more elite weapon...the thinblade wielded by his mentor. Driving himself to further excellence, he worked long and hard over many years before he was finally adjudged to be competent with a thinblade by his master, which was high praise indeed, especially considering he had only studied with him for a score of years. Deciding to pursue a more artistic path again for a while, Baeleth began to wander the woods, painting animals, plants, and scenes of the natural world, often taking months on a single canvas as he taught himself to paint. His first efforts, while crude, captured the feel of the objects painted, but over time his skill began to match his vision. Slowly as his mastery over the medium grew, he began painting likeness’ of the people closest to him, attempting to capture both the essence and the appearance of the individual. Succeeding for the most part he finally, after two decades, decided to move on to another endeavour. After speaking with his mother, Baeleth decided to study magic under his ancient and powerful great grandfather Uthael on his mother’s side, the teacher his own mother had learned the art from. The early lessons were arduous and at times seemed pointless, but he persevered knowing there must be some reason. Over several decades he studied both magic and most of the languages he now knows under the exacting instruction of the mighty wizard, learning much of his family history in the process. During his time with the old mage, he also painted a likeness of him, by far his best work to date as it captured both the power and kindness the elder elf showed him. Eventually his great grandfather deemed him complete in his studies, with only a little practice and experience required, and sent him on his way with a spellbook and the components for the spells therein. Prepared after more than a century of study and reflection to explore the wider world, Baeleth is especially interested in seeing the human dueling schools and gauging the humans skill with a blade. Two weeks before he was due to leave he organised to meet his sister, but when he came to the appointed meeting place, she was not there. He found ground disturbed, and the bracelet he had made for her over fifty years earlier lay discarded near the disturbed ground. Quickly returning to the settlement, he informed the guard of events and they sent trackers out to look for her. Even the most experienced among them could only follow the tracks a short distance from the point of her abduction, before they just disappeared, though they did report the direction as being towards the human lands. Putting his affairs in order quickly Baeleth headed into the human lands, pledging as he fastened the bracelet around his left wrist that he would find his sister as he explored the wider world...
