Halloween is the last day to join the Custom Adventure project #2 before prices go up. The Custom Adventure project is your chance to own a custom-designed adventure by top designer Wolfgang Baur, one of the best designers in the business. He has written numerous sourcebooks for Dungeons & Dragons, Planescape, Al-Qadim, D20, and Call of Cthulhu, as well as many of the most well loved adventures in Dungeon Magazine. The Custom Adventure is written as a private commission for a group of patrons, to the specifications of the patrons, and with patron participation and commentary all along the way. As a patron you get insight into the design process, you get to make monster/encounter suggestions, you get to vote on the level of the adventure, and other aspects of the adventure construction. At the end of it you end up with a professional-grade adventure suitable for use in your own campaign. But along the way, Wolfgang also writes design essays about various topics, these essays are a tremendous boon to any DM and some of them have gone on to be published on the WotC website. There are a number of different patron levels that guarantee different levels of access. The first adventure was a tremendous success. Voting is now underway on the outline for adventure number 2. There are a number of different outline proposals, but it looks like the one that is winning involves a fully detailed castle on the Shadow Plane and a mystery involving ancient family secrets. If you want to get involved before the commission is set and the prices go up, head on over to the website and check it out: http://customadventure.livejournal.com/ October 31st is the last day to join before the patron level prices increase. Also, there are already 2 new design essays up for members only. Looks like he is already working on design essay #3 which will be on the topic of designing Planar adventures. Join now and check it out!
