After I first got into his writing I read a bunch of his old science fiction stuff from the 70's (there's a big hiatus in the middle of his writing career from when he did TV work) and that's very very good as well, possibly better than his fantasy stuff (more melancholic and whimsical with a lot of lovelorn characters which you don't see much off in his modern books, less bitter and gritty, but still quite dark). He didn't write much fantasy in the old days, but "The Lost Lands" is good stuff...</p></blockquote><p></p>
