Torelli cocks an eyebrow as the antics between Barlo and Maui continue and begins to say something. In that moment, Vincenzo realizes there is a subtle, but discernible alchemical odor wafting up from the small rat-man. However, both Torelli's words and Vincenzo's recognition of this are cut off by a very clear, punctuated magical word spoken by the elder wizard, Hassbek. Hassbek "Chazu!" overtakes whatever the Cortesian guard might have had to say, and reality becomes a blur. Moments later, as the world focuses into a new normality, Hassbek has slipped his hand from Vincenzo's and presently ambles towards a large tree. "Yes, this is place." He stops, resting against the tree, chuckling and looking back at the group as you get your bearings. "Brown Eye? Really?" You find yourselves on a hill with a large tree dominating the other features. Looking around, you find the setting to be rather pastoral, but in the distance, two major features catch your attention. First, and most visible, Tritower lies less than an hour's foot travel away. You can see signs of things not right with the town, such as smoke rising which cannot be accounted from normal activity. However, there is something odd and unsettling about viewing the town--you just can't put your finger on it. Secondly, there is a substantial encampment, certainly in the hundreds of inhabitants or more, between the river running through Tritower and the Silver Road. It might take a half hour or so to get there. Even at this distance, it has a very hodgepodge look to it, unlike a military camp where tents are uniform in type and layout. Instead, this looks to be built from whatever people took with them upon exiting the town plus what they have found in the outlying areas. [sblock=Speech Color and Humor]I altered Hassbek's speech color to mix better with the party, however short-lived his presence might be. Better late than never. Maybe I'll go back and repaint previous posts. I don't mean to put a damper on Barlo's style, I was just portraying Torelli's nature--very focused at the moment. Let it be known I appreciate everything everyone does to make their characters living, breathing people. :)[/sblock]
