It's bad form to offer criticisims via a message board? Says who? What are the boards for then? I thought they were for disscussion and debate of issues within the d20 community. As an artist I don't expect people to remain silent if my work is worthy of criticism. Is the purpose of this forum solely to discuss the methods by which we organize our bookshelves? Notice I never said anything about Mat Smith personally... the only issue I have is with his work. Did you notice the "[rant]" disclosure in the title? As far as being a "big poopshoot", I really don't think personal attacks are warranted here Kamikaze Midget. I'm not being an :):):):):):):), just a dissatisfied customer and I want to find out if I'm alone in my bafflement. I guess I am. As far as being told to write for a younger demographic, that might be true. Despite all the market research his editors doubtlessly have at their disposal, Mr. Smith's bosses might be under the mistaken impression that the way to appeal to a 30 year old audience is to treat them like twelve year olds. I still think they could find someone willing to write ads that don't condescend to us. The web content plan doesn't explain why every ad with his fingerprints on it make me ashamed to be a gamer (when my friends come over they sometimes pick up a Dragon mag I might have laying around and are intrigued... until they get to a WotC ad, shake their head after reading it and say "I can't believe you play this game") Okay, so far in answer to my question I'm basicly being told to get over it. Is that pretty much it? Mat Smith is all I should expect or demand as a consumer? Folks really don't mind eh? I'm a little surprised, I really am (not only that people don't mind but that I was called a "poopshoot" for expressing my views).
