Thanks - we hope this strategy works since these dead months until 4th will hurt even bigger publishers - but more importantly, this is not a gimmick because it is sincere in its goal. Mood is a very important element in any setting and this is rarely translated through rules. Realistic atmosphere is dependent on the Game Master and Players, and sometimes it is lost on a tabletop filled with plastic miniatures, map tiles, and chess-like strategy. The "4ny" is intentional, but by no means created with an intention to mislead. We wanted to say: "This product is compatible with 4th Edition" without saying "This product is compatible with 4th Edition". On the other hand, we didn't want to mislead our customers because we do not know what 4th Edition will ultimately be like, save for the bits and scraps WotC is granting the public (and even those might change). And we do not make any claim to know. This is why you do not see "4th" or even "3rd/3.5" in the logo. But the same could be said if the logo stated "4 Any Edition". Actually, our original design had the 4 looking more like an A - but it was not visually pleasing without extending the logo to an awkward dimension. We might change the logo to fit that initial intention, but we are satisfied with the logo at this point. Anyway, we do hope you enjoy the product (this is the 1st of many, even after the release of 4th) and look forward to seeing you at these forums more often. We always love feedback and since we are a small company, it is easier for us to listen. :)
