Kind of an announcement that's already been made... OK, I've hinted at this before, but I guess I should just put out the call in a straightforward manner, now that Morrus has switched over to the new boards and things look like they'll be stable. Morrus has asked me about creating a d20 Lord of the Rings conversion site, which would be something along the lines of the other EN World hosted sites. Basically, the site would be a fan conversion warehouse type of thing. There is now so much fan-made material just from these recent threads that I think such a site could be rather substantial. What I'm going to do with the material I've been safekeeping is to split it up into its constituent parts - Classes, Races, Monsters, Magic, etc. - so that it can be posted in sections on the proposed site. That is, there would be a main page, with links to other pages that dealt with the specific subjects - economy, monsters, etc. I propose that each respective conversion document be labelled as such; that is, the links would be along the lines of "Middle Earth Monsters: Gothmog's Versions; ColonelHardisson's Versions," etc. You get the idea. The more the merrier, and we avoid the possibility of labelling this or that conversion as being the "correct" one. Anyway, what we could use is gazetteer type stuff, describing the lands, peoples, creatures, and history of Middle Earth. I propose that, at least at first, we concentrate on the late 3rd Age/early 4th Age, because that would be the time frame that most, especially those only familiar with LotR via the movie, would be familiar with. I don't know nothin' 'bout makin' websites/webpages, so help me out, guys. I appreciate whatever you can do.
