As soon as Sheridan, while walking towards the ambush scene, understands what is going on, his immediate reaction is to get out of the way and into the shadows, to hide in the nearest dark area close to a building's wall (1). (Thinking) Alright, here we go again. How many times have I been through this?, he thinks to himself. Having been in similar situations many times during his life in the undercity, he knows that he's been sometimes quite good at turning the tide through intimidation, but generally prefers to avoid confrontation outright. But this time is different... Hang on in there, you fool... you're the Sharn Watch now. You can't let this scum have their way on that halfling. Although the little guy looks like he might not be as hopeless as it might seem.... Sheridan tries to remain hidden in the dark for a little while in order to assess the situation. First and foremost, being somewhat familiar with the setup of an ambush in the undercity, he tries to locate the ambushers and particularly the snipers on the roof (2), which he thinks will be their first target in case of a fight. He already draws a couple of his daggers ready, but if combat doesn't erupt too quickly, he will then focus his attention to the hobgoblin to check if he's a known character to him (3). [sblock=OOC]Let us know if you prefer that it will be us players declaring rolls, or that it will be you the DM calling out what to roll! In this first sequence, Sheridan presumably rolls (1) to hide without being noticed, (2) to spot the snipers number and locations on the roof, and (3) possibly a streetwise check to see if he knows the hobgoblin. Of course it might take multiple rounds for all these checks... and if combat starts already, he might not have time for all of them. But I post here what he's going to do in case combat doesn't start, so that the PbP can continue even if I'm late for the next post. [/sblock] NOTE: Because of Skill Mastery, the Spot check defaults to 10 + 6 = 16.
