Like the other Future/Perfect scenarios, there's plenty of information on investigation but not on actual confrontation. </p><p></p><p>Because Archive's player wasn't playing, that really raised the stakes. As George put it, "if one of us goes down it's all over." That heightened the tension and also made the critters that much more deadly – Archive's presence ensures fast healing. Without it, a conflict that goes against the agents is deadly indeed. </p><p></p><p>This scenario ended up focusing more on the sheriff and deputy who led the investigation. Fortunately, Jim-Bean and Hammer make a good buddy team, so there was plenty of opportunity for role-playing with the locals. </p><p></p><p>I was surprised by what freaked out the players.
