Who wouldn't. Scenario: Elf walks through the forest minding his own business...then sees a beautiful woman ahead, hidden behind the foliage. Thinking it might be ok to sneak a peek while she baths he walks up shoots a load in his pants and dies. Days later kender borrowers happen by and wonder why it is that their is a wet tent in the elf's trousers and why it is that he seems so happy about it. Hearing the beautiful voice behind them they turn around and end up just as happy as the elf. Days later a wandering paladin comes upon the horrific display of death and unbridled lust. Fearing for both his chastity and his life, he attempts to sneak away. In so doing he loses his Paladin status and without the protection of his deity succumbs to the same fate. Days later an old hag wanders through and finds the decaying remnants. Wiser than the rest, she puts a bag over her head, sparing the nymph a gruesome view and sparing herself and untimely death. Days later a medusa come through, although she dies, the nymph's terrible beauty is forever preserved, leaving her all too bare for the world to see. Many more deaths follow. Before too long the statue becomes cursed for the evil it has caused and comes to life once more. Unwilling to hide it's beauty it brings entire villages to ruin, then cities, then kingdoms. Finally...another nymph happens upon this tragedy. Heartbroken, she tries to rid the world of the stone nymph, only to succumb to it's beauty as well. Unable to die the stone nymph continues on. Then githyanki land and see the devastation. Seeking to harness this weapon for themselves, they capture it using blind men and release it upon the illithid homeworld. After aeons, it's legend and power grow. Illithids scream in horror at the mere mention of her. Before too long an evil goddess is born from this lowly nymph, all for want of a sneak peek at her goodies.
