An interesting choice for first-time buyers. These small, old liners are often pressed into service to fulfil a variety of functions. Designed to carry a select group of nearly 100 well-paying passengers, serviced by a crew of 11, the ships are often refitted with an array of six disruptor weapons (two forward, two aft, and one port and starboard) and Parsec Group shields. Older specimens make for a spacious, comfortable journey without breaking the bank.

This ship is designed for surface exploration. It carries two vehicles, each of which can carry three people, and is designed to touch down on a planet. The Rover is equipped with a sensitive LS-2 sensor array and a pair of Outerdyne MH-1 hyperdrives capable of pushing it up to FTL-6, and powerful shields. It even has a forward mounted cannon. The interior is focused more on science than comfort, and the fuel bay alteration allows for an impressive operational range of over 50 parsecs.

Quicksilver yachts are designed to be fast and comfortable, and were designed for mid-distance racing. In fact, the Cross Burn has been won by a Quicksilver model more times than any other type of ship. Capable of FTL-8, and with an expanded fuel bay which gives it an operational range of 18 parsecs, these yachts even come with a single short-range photonics torpedo for emergency defense. Only needing a crew of 4, each member gets their own cabin. The yachts have a bit of a glass jaw, though, and are a bit flimsy, lacking much in the way of superstructure or armor.

A small transport designed for short hops, the Firebug is a very common ship. An aging model, these vessels tend to be reliable. Room for 4 paying passengers and a 4.500 ton cargo capacity make up for its near lack of armaments (a single railgun provides protection). The ship has an external shuttle, accessed via an airlock, saving vital costs on a shuttlebay.

The classic smuggler's ship, the small Caliko-class freighters have 24 CU of hidden storage. Electronic countermeasures help protect against scans, and the extended fuel bay ensures the vessel has a decent range. Unusual for a ship this small, automated point defense systems provide excellent defense against missiles and fighters.

A mid-sized exploration vessel, this class of ship featured in The Last Survivor. Bigger and more expensive than the others featured here, this vessel boasts a shuttle bay, a single transporter pad, and space for 20 passengers (manned by a crew of 20). While it's not particularly fast, the Selkirk class has a long range of 128 parsecs, decent shields, and a beam laser capable of fending off less determined attackers.

This little bucket of bolts is pretty much the cheapest ship you can buy. No weapons, no shields, not even a basic sickbay, a crew of four shares hotbunks. With a range of only one parsec, it's not much of an insterstellar craft, either, although many captains immediately extend the fuel bays on these little craft. Honestly, it's basically a large shuttle with an FTL drive and a cargo bay.
