That's the right spirit. A constructive approach is what I prefer. ;) Here are a few things I would like to note: 1) Your build will probably lead to a lower Armor Class than is possible if using heavy armor and a shield. You should point that out, even if you think (and you might be correct) that this choice is the better one for a Tactical Warlord. (You could highlight that with a reach weapon, you might be able to avoid exposing yourself as much as if you always have to be adjacent to your enemies. 2) I don't think that Weapon Focus is that important and you should probably suggest some Tactical Warlord feats. 3) Also, I don't feel like a laser-sharp focus on the optimum feats is always the best option. Weapon Expertise is certainly a must and "power-gaming"-wise the best choice early on but it doesn't affect how the character plays itself. I think a good build advice should also consider learning how to play the character, and therefore it is more important to point out choices that highlight the characters shtick and tactical approach. So I would probably keep the weapon proficiency feat, but other feats that focus more on using reach or tactical warlord abilities are more important. Of course, that's all my opinion and all that, but I think the Essentials article are not only about building an effective character, but also why you build it in a particular way and teaching play of the build. Every feat and ability that keys off the class shtick is a helper to understand the class and learn what to look out for during combat.
