Don’t forget to bring some antidote when playing Raise Your Goblets!

In Raise Your Goblets, players take the roles of nobles at a banquet, each one with their own agenda of personal vendetta. Each player has wine, poison and antidote tokens they can pour into the goblets, trying to poison their enemies while staying alive themselves! Each noble also has a special ability that allows them to bend or even break a rule.

In more detail, each character has a plastic goblet, and each goblet is primed in secret at the start of the round with either wine, poison or antidote. On a turn, you take two actions, with actions being to peek inside your goblet, rotate all goblets left or right, swap your goblet with someone else's, or secretly add one of your wine, poison or antidote tokens to any goblet. Once someone has "served" all of their wine, they can call a toast on their turn instead of doing anything else. Each player, including the toaster, takes one more action, then everyone drinks. If you have more poison than antidote, you die.

What's your goal in doing all of this? Well, at the start of a round you are given a target to kill, and everyone knows who is targeting whom. If at the end of a round, your target is dead, you score 1 point; if you're alive, you score 1 point; if both of these things are true, you score a bonus point (3 total). Also, whoever has the most wine in their cup scores 1 point. If someone has died, they receive a new noble card, and at the end of three rounds, whoever has scored the most points wins.

Race for the Galaxy : Jump Drive

2-4 players, ages 13+, 10-30+ minutes

By Rio Grande Games

With the invention of Jump Drive, the race for the galaxy begins! Develop new technologies and settle worlds to build a space empire. Can you build the most prosperous galactic civilization?

Jump Drive is a standalone game and offers simpler rules and a shorter game than its older brother Race for the Galaxy.

Ticket to Ride : First Journey

2-4 players, ages 6+, 15-30+ minutes

By Days of Wonder

Ticket to Ride: First Journey takes the gameplay of the Ticket to Ride series and scales it down for a younger audience.

In general, players collect train cards, claim routes on the map, and try to connect the cities shown on their tickets. In more detail, the game board shows a map of the United States with certain cities being connect by colored paths. Each player starts with four colored train cards in hand and two tickets; each ticket shows two cities, and you're trying to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket.

On a turn, you either draw two train cards from the deck or discard train cards to claim a route between two cities; for this latter option, you must discard cards matching the color and number of spaces on that route (e.g., two yellow cards for a yellow route that's two spaces long). If you connect the two cities shown on a ticket with a path of your trains, reveal the ticket, place it face up in front of you, then draw a new ticket. (If you can't connect cities on either ticket because the paths are blocked, you can take your entire turn to discard those tickets and draw two new ones.)

If you connect one of the West Coast cities to one of the East Coast cities with a path of your turns, you immediately claim a Coast-to-Coast ticket.

The first player to complete six tickets wins! Alternatively, if someone has placed all twenty of their trains on the game board, then whoever has completed the most tickets wins!

Dominion Big Box 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Edition

5-6 players, ages 13+, 30 minutes

By Rio Grande Games

This Big Box edition comes with the new 2016 versions of Dominion and Dominion: Intrigue, as well as additional basic cards for 5 and 6 player games.

Play Dirty

Steam Park Expansion

By Horrible Games

Steam Park: Play Dirty is a modular expansion for Steam Park, allowing you to introduce many different new features one at a time – or all together! Included are six new characters, scary espionage dice, new rides, mew stands, and components to allow up to five players!

Light and Dark

2 players, ages 10+, 10+ minutes

By Alderac Entertainment Group

Flick, flip, fun!

In Light & Dark, two players compete to see whether they can turn druids to the side of the light or the dark. Flick druid disks across the table in an attempt to convert your opponent's druids, or light and extinguish torches to win the game.

Gloom in Space

2-5 players, ages 13+, 60+ minutes

By Atlas Games

Space is the worst — empty, black, airless, awash in radiation, and dotted with immense clods of flaming plasma that make everything within millions of miles too hot to support life. If your living room were like space, you'd never ever go there.

In Gloom in Space, you make your rag-tag band or star-faring heroes miserable, then kill them. Sci-fi archetypes like the Smuggler, Captain, Doctor, and Dark Lord fight their fathers, meddle with monoliths, get caught in compactors, and wind up getting nuked from orbit. Eventually, enough Untimely Deaths come to pass that the game ends. And then? The most miserable crew wins.

Gloom in Space is a standalone game that's also compatible with all existing Gloom core games and expansions.

Ta-Da!

2-6 players, ages 14+, 10-15+ minutes

By Cool Mini or Not

This year's annual Wizard Talent Show promises to be an exciting event with skilled witches and wizards attending from far and wide. Players will attempt to prove they are the most talented and deserving spellcaster of the bunch.

Ta-Da! is played over a number of fast-paced, frantic rounds. Each player furiously rolls dice in an effort to collect the elements needed to cast their spell. With each roll, players can add one die to their spell, then must reroll the rest. As soon as they have completed their spell, they yell "Ta-da!" and they're one step closer to winning the Talent Show.

However, game-changing feats will be in play throughout the game, making players perform crazy acts as they play, such as making animal noises, keeping their heads on the table, and more!

Guild Halls

Villages of Valeria Expansion Set 1

By Daily Magic Games

Guild Halls introduces 4 new buildings - 1 for each type. In order to ensure that they stay one step ahead of the other hosts, players will have to carefully watch the growing line of guests at the door, inviting those in that seem to share passions with partygoers already inside, all the while handing out their precious stash of Regrets to those who should seek refuge elsewhere. Of course, other hosts may find it advantageous to invite a rejected guest inside just to collect their accumulated Regrets for later use.

Hosts may also choose to ignore the competition for guests and instead try to earn the favor of the Belle of the Ball herself, whose charms can make or break any party.

Traitor Mechanic

4-10 players

By Greater Than Games

In Traitor Mechanic: The Traitor Mechanic Game, players are automobile mechanics, all working together to fix cars. They crossed the border, took a frontier castle and burned three mountain villages, and then, in the valley of the Valkia, ten miles west of the boundary line, they met the hosts of Conan, king of Aquilonia—forty-five thousand knights, archers and men-at-arms, the flower of Aquilonian strength and chivalry.

— Robert E. Its four distinctive miniatures, each of which comes with its corresponding unit tile, allow you to push the heroes to their limits with powerful spells and precision strikes.

As a powerful spell caster, the sorcerous Shubba can loose your vengeance upon the heroes with any spells you give him, and his concentration ability ensures that he'll never find his spell casting hindered by the heroes' interference.

Shubba's allies, Shafiah and Ghayoor, are skilled warriors whose attacks of two orange dice are deadlier than the heroes might expect. This is because they both have the precision strike ability which effectively allows their attacks to ignore the first point of a hero's armor. (If you can't connect cities on either ticket because the paths are blocked, you can take your entire turn to discard those tickets and draw two new ones.) If you connect one of the West Coast cities to one of the East Coast cities with a path of your turns, you immediately claim a Coast-to-Coast ticket. The first player to complete six tickets wins! Alternatively, if someone has placed all twenty of their trains on the game board, then whoever has completed the most tickets wins! As soon as they have completed their spell, they yell "Ta-da!" and they're one step closer to winning the Talent Show. In the card game Belle of the Ball, players take on the roles of party hosts, seeking the best mix of guests to make their gala the greatest by the end of the night. — Robert E. Howard, The Hour of the Dragon Contains: 6 Tiles (3 in French, 3 in English) 10 Plastic miniatures Kushite Witch Hunters Conan Expansion By Monolith "In the great square of the inner city, a sorcerer was being tortured, while a great mob looked on and jeered. Conan, attacked at his house by the monster, wounded it mortally and pursued it into the square, where it rushed to its master, the Kordafan, and fell dead. The frenzied mob tore the Kordafan to pieces…" – Robert E. Howard, Appendices volume 2 The Overlord gains more of both swords and sorcery with the Kushite Witch Hunters. Meanwhile, their loyalty to the sorcerer is unquestionable, as both are willing to sacrifice themselves in his defense, if such a sacrifice should ever prove necessary. The deadliest of the expansion's three melee warriors, Afari pairs his solid defense and brutal attack with the ability to counterattack. Whenever he faces one of the heroes' melee attacks, Afari can immediately retaliate by attacking with a single red die. While this attack isn't as powerful as a swing from his wicked blade, it still benefits from Afari's precision strike ability, and he can perform this counterattack multiple times in a turn—if the heroes are foolish enough to test themselves against his skills! Conan is the asymmetrical board game of pulse-pounding Hyborian action. One to four heroes set forth on adventures and are opposed by the forces of the Overlord. The scenarios vary greatly, but there’s always action, and the extra dice from the Dice Packwill help you resolve it more quickly. Its six custom dice are divided two each between the three different types appearing in the base game, meaning your heroes and Overlord, alike, will be able to attack, counterattack, cast spells, and reload their crossbows faster and more smoothly than ever. Conquest of Paradise is a game of empire building in the "Polynesian Triangle" of the central Pacific Ocean for two, three, or four players. Players explore the unknown ocean around them, hoping to discover the most lucrative island groups, and colonize them. They build canoes and train warriors to create a force to defend their empire, while forging lines of communication with their developing discoveries. Resources are scarce; using them wisely is a key to victory. Investing in exploration widens your empire. Building warriors strengthens your empire. Investing resources into cultural innovations can yield unexpected dividends, like tattooing, hula dancing, surfing, or even the giant moai statues of Easter Island fame. Conquest of Paradise is a fast-playing design. You can learn the game in 15 minutes and finish a complete game in 90 minutes. Advanced rules can be added after you become familiar with the basic rules, for a more in-depth experience. Conquest of Paradise is a game of exploration and empire building, but also (as you'd expect from a GMT game) conflict. Choosing when to build those expensive war canoes, and when and where to fight, given limited resources, is key to your success. Game play begins in June 1991 when Slovenia and Croatia proclaimed independence from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and ends in early 1992. There are two players: the Federalist and the Separatist. The Federalist player assumes the role of the commander of the People’s Army of Yugoslavia (JNA), the only Federal institution still working in Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. The Federalist player must fight low morale, politicos, and the Separatists to keep Yugoslavia united, or at least to retain the largest possible tract of Serb-inhabited territory. The Separatist player represents the governments of the breakaway republics of Slovenia and Croatia fighting for independence and a free market economy. The premise of the game is that President John F. Kennedy had ordered the US military to invade the island in order to remove Soviet missiles and nuclear weapons. Historically, the missiles were removed by a combination of American military and diplomatic pressure (known as the Cuban Missile Crisis), but the game looks at the “what if.” The player controls the US forces; the game system controls the opposing Communist reaction. The objective of the game is for the US to capture Cuba at the lowest possible cost in casualties.
