Played some Classic Traveller today

Gotcha, Traveller certainly gives you tools for creating content. I like the Third Imperium because it provides a skeleton, which I need, because im not very good at making a whole world from scratch.

Most GM's used those tools in prep, not at the table, back in the day. Most, not all.

Also note: the 2 CT sectorbooks (Sups 3 and 10) are NOT generated with the Bk2 mechanics.

And as a further caveat, there are 4 different rulesets that are "Classic Traveller" - Pre 1981 LBBs, 1981 and later LBBs, TTB, and Starter. Frank Filz has a wonderful comparison: Classic Traveller Editions–A Section-by-Section Comparison
