Aren't these quotes just a bit Player vs. DM? Cmanos, would you really say to a player, "Oh, yeah, if you are going to try that I'm just gonna change the rules on you?" Would you appreciate that as a player? Jrients, do you really have a hitlist that you put "problem" players on? Wouldn't it be better to talk about your misgivings rationally and before game, rather than punishing the player for having the audicity to try and make a character just a smidge more powerful? As DM I can create far more (so called) cheese as to make this look like a straight bard build. (Players have no problem with trolls, let's slap the half-fiend template on them. Now try fireballing your way through trolls. Bwahahahahaha. I know, I know, nilbogs with vicious swords. That'll teach those players not to mess with me.) Personally, I see absolutely no reason to disallow the character. The DMG and other books suggest (or should suggest) changing prereqs on PrCs if they fit a concept. The Evasion ability is close enough. I see no problem with getting visions from gods one despises. Besides, the character is still only 3rd level. Will this build survive to high level? If he manages to get the sub-optimal druid/bard up in the 10s level, he deserves to gain power. People complain that high level play is dominated by magic items anyway, so I don't see why creating a character less dependent on those items should be seen as being bad. Some people have to get beyond thinking min/maxing is bad. It shows he's interested enough in the game to think about his characters future. If only every player were that interested.
