I am the author, with Erica Balsley providing copious help with creatures and monsters. I want everyone to understand that I have no chance of detailing any setting as thoroughly as a true fan would desire. For example, my co-author, Erica, has enough notes to fill about 100 pages with just Celtic and fey lore, and I'm sure I could write that much for each setting. But I have to pare each mythology down to about 10 to 15 pages of core material. So look at this more of a sourcebook of general ideas than an exhaustive campaign setting for each mythological tradition. If the book does well, I will gladly expand on mythic settings that deserve more space, possibly in their own separate books, but until we have that chance, I hope it will be enough that I'll include my full bibliography of resources for those with the interest to find all the details I'll have to cut. I do expect that I'll disappoint a lot of people because, really, how do you effectively condense all of even a relatively obscure mythological tradition, like that of eastern American Indians, into only 10 pages? But hopefully everyone will find at least a good portion of the book as new, unfamiliar information. I won't be able to provide more Egyptian lore than what Egyptian afficionados already know, but I can hope to intrigue them with tales of Hawaii, Alaska, Korea, or Australia. Since there is so much for me to work on, I'll gladly consider any requests you might have. Russ, for instance, wants me to give a lot of detail to England, whereas I am looking forward to Native American myths, and Erica likes the fey. What would you be most interested in? Or do you just want to experience stories you've never heard before?
